Thanks for this! I plan to make it my July 4 holiday reading.

Latest update with a few scenario walkthroughs by PGat. Also some general clean up and minor additions in descriptions. Still planning on getting an AAW walkthrough and more detail on Ops Planner as a couple of technical issues get resolved. But other than that and continuous updating, its pretty much final.

Here is an issue in the manual I have found particularly confusing.
On page 155 in the current manual revision 142:
7.4.3 Mobile facility vs Ground unit and Split/Merge ground units

One of the most significant capabilities brought by the operation planner, is the possibility to have units
dynamically change mission. But not all types of units are eligible for this kind of behavior. As part of that, It is
important to understand the core difference between:
• Ground units as facility which is a legacy implementation where ground unit are assimilated as moving
“facility”
• Mobile facilities, a new implementation, which works like others active units such as aircraft, ships
etc…
The first hold a group of units abstractly represented as “mounts”, while the last is a fully simulated individual
unit. The core difference that interests us here is that ground units as facility are transported as cargo which
doesn’t have an existence in the simulation until it has landed (and spawned).
This means that we can’t assign or queue them a mission until they have landed, and you will not be able to
achieve a fully autonomous behavior for your units, in this case.
Since the 8th November 2021 update we allow cargo operation for active units, meaning that all these limitation
are now removed. However, you must have the right methodology to achieve this.
156
Unless you have to achieve backward compatibility or if a database entry is missing, you MUST use ground
units NOT mobiles facilities to use the operation planner at its fullest
I am strongly suspecting that right at the beginning where it defines "ground units" and "mobile facilities" that they are reversed. Otherwise this section makes no sense, as it's telling us we have to use the legacy units to use new features.
Either that or I am seriously seriously misunderstanding things.

Hi gang,

I orignally posted this in the tech forum because I had completely glossed over this thread. Sorry about that, but... here we go..

I have 3 (small) suggestions for updates in the documentation... at the time of writing I'm working on a Steam guide for C:MO, and to make sure I cover all bases I'm using the PDF manual ("CMO Manual EBOOK") as backup reference. This makes me spot things, also because I'm often not even taking the manual for granted ;)

4.5.9 Doctrines, Postures, Weapon release authority and rules of engagement
In the second bullet it says: "For more information, see "Doctrine" under "Buttons and Windows"".

6.3.8 Side doctrine/ROE/WRA/EMCON
At the end of the section it says: "For more information, see "Unit and Group Doctrine" under "Buttons and Windows".

6.3.9 EMCON Tab
Same as above, at the end it says: "For more information, see "Unit and Group Doctrine" under "Buttons and Windows".

The problem is that section "Buttons and Windows" (section 3.3) doesn't have any child items. Therefor my suggestion is to change the above quotes into: "For more information, see "3.3.12 UNIT/GROUP DOCTRINE"".

Hope this can help!

Thank you so much for keeping the manual up to date. I guess I'm old fashioned. My favorite way to play a wargame/simulation (both digital and boardgame) is to read and study a manual.

Did quick run through on formatting and added all the changelogs to date. Reformatted the changelogs to make them easier to read and the build numbers standout better for quick reference.
