Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
I'm doing a sort of summary version of AAR because most of you have already seen several of my playthroughs and the theatrical happenings I go through to get here. Now that we're here I'll try to give you close ups of the situations I get into. I believe that's what you're here for. I agree, me too.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
This is what it looks like at the beginning of T11 ( R1 ). I have all the exits covered so nobody can escape. Now I need to get some units between them and Narva. I've got enough horsepower on the eastmost coastal road but I think I may have to use the division near Tallinn to clear out the north coast and get in a position to influence the battle group in the middle. The port at Pskov is my next main target and I'm guessing I need more horsepower there.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
This is what it looks like the port at Pskov and looking south. I've got most of the river crossings contested and in one or two I've made my way across the river.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
I appear to be approaching the bottleneck where there's no river to hide behind. I'm going to see if I can bust through there and get behind some of those Soviet units.

I thought you might like a paroramic view of the Kiev area because It looks busy-ier somehow if you do.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
This is the view of the Narva area right now. I've got a few Soviets to defeat before I can advance into the Leningrad area but most of them are small units and shouldn't be much of a problem. I brought my ship units near to help out. I have 32.4 HRS's assigned so far.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
Here is a vew of the Pskov area right now. I'm almost through the defenders and there is an open road around them that I can use to get into their back field and rout them fairly easily.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
Smolensk is just off map to the east but the defenders are substantial. I'm going to surround them and eventually defeat them.

And the view a little further south. I have nothing to say about this. It is what it is.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
Here's a better view of the Smolensk situation. As you can see I'm making my way into his backfield. Most of my units are tired and need a rest. I'd like to take a turn or two and just rest everybody. Send the tired ones to the rear and push the healthy ones to the front.

This is a view of Orsha looking south. I'm still fighting for the river crossings.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
This is a view of the area a little south of the one above. I got to the crossing a little before the Soviets arrived and I'm successfully across the river in force.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
This is a view of the area a little south of the one above. I've got a good chance to make some progress in this area. I believe this is just a bit NW of Kiev.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
I like this expanded view a lot better. I'm sneaking up on Kiev and I should be there in about 10 turns or so.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
And in the south I've been able to surround the Soviet units before they can escape to the east and the Bessarabia is cleared out...the Odessa area is going to be a problem. I haven't yet built the rails close enough to use my RR arty to help the takedown so it's going to be a problem until that happens.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
Speaking of the Odessa area, here it is right now. I'm not having much trouble pushing the Soviets back but Odessa is going to be a real problem if I can't get the RR artillery within range.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
Here's the Narva area looking west and it shows me getting the better of some Soviet defenders. I'm going to burn 1 turn to allow the attack of the Stukas on the Soviet naval units. Also that will allow me to move some units to get them into a position to attack something in the first turn. I rarely use all 10 rounds of a turn anyway, and usually only go until round 4 or so. I've got 34.4HRS's assigned so far.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
I've forced my way into Pskov and I'm crossing the river further south but I'm running into resistance. I don't remember if I've already moved these particular units or not. I'm going to try to surround them before I destroy them to avoid the damaged equipment going back to their pools.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
I've managed to get across the river in various places and pushing my way into the Soviet backfield. There is some remnants to the east of my main lines and I'm dealing with them okie dokie.

Re: My 3rd Annual D21 Run through
I'm slowly digesting a small group of Soviet units in the top left and I'm going to try to surround the small group south of the first group and I have to stop up all the river crossings south of Kiev.
