I served on the Cimarron (AO-22) in late 1963. Was there also a Tanker class?

BTW as a side note, yesterday (November 22) I left her for the last time in Long Beach to be sent back to San Diego to be muster out of the Navy. I was in the Greyhound bus depot waiting for departure when the news of President Kennedy was piped over the loud speaker. On the trip we heard he had died. There are some things you never forget.

Opps, just read where she was laid down as a Tanker Hull in 1939 and later commissioned as a fleet oiler. She did have a rich history. She was along with the group that launch the Doolittle raid on Japan. The most striking thing I remember from 1963 is that at the time she was the oldest continous active ship in the fleet and was cockroach infested.

Just to help out, but I'd reexamine your Salmon/Sargo class pic. I don't ahve a good line drawing handy, but the conning tower is cited to far to the rear. Also, it looks like the con is cited below the main deck. With the exception of an early (1933) Style conning tower, her silouhette should be similar to other US fleet boats.

I don't know but muzzle flashes on some ships look out of the picture. IMHO.

Hey Cobra, are you actually drawing these graphics, or are you basing them off those 1:1250 scale model ships from that site you PMed me about? I ask because your Chacalot graphic is the same color and perspective as the photo of the Chacalot model on that site.

Also, after viewing these graphics, if I may make another suggestion, if you are going to model the submarines full hull (As you seem to be on some of them), then I wouldn't have a wake below them. You'd only need a wake if it was a waterline graphic.

Keep up the good work.

the answer to your question is yes for some but I sent a fair bit of time searching other
modeling sites for variation and ships I dont have yet
Igave the sub wake a lot of thought and decided to use one but a lot smaller tha surface ships as the subs props would to me have some wash even under water taking a torp shot or surface action
Testarosa can you indicate which ship has muzzel flash out of position ( was it a Japanese
ship as I am not playing as Japanese trying to get someone who is to test Japanese ships for and report findings)
