The dent in the Soviet lines made by the Germans to the southwest of Leningrad is growing turn by turn. The losses on both sides are horrific. The Soviets are running out of fresh divisions. Good thing the mud season is almost upon us ( turn 82 I think ). Maybe the divisions that are there can hold out that long, maybe not. We'll see.

I lost 3 panzer regiments and 5 panzergrenadier regiments in Leningrad area this turn. On top of that 2 infantry regiments in Orel. I consider those pretty HUGE losses, especially since the panzer regiments ain't coming back...and I don't know if the pzg  regiments are coming back either.

Karri, those formattions may return, it really is the german lack of total inf replacements that have them doomed, win in 42 or else!

I had been wondering about the 'non-reconstructing' German unts. I'm guessing it's so they don't reappear after their withdrawal? If this is the only reason, it can be 'fixed', does anybody know how long it takes units to reconstitute?

I've noticed that there's usually at least 4 turns before a Soviet unit will show up again after it's been killed. It's usually really really low on supply and can't be used in combat for about 10 turns after it shows up but I don't know about the German stuff.

How about your impressions of the German stuff Mr. Karri? And how about posting some losses again?

Hello Mr. Fulkerson! Can you tell me how to ..... capture a full map shot so I can print it out? I copied one of yours from here that would work but I would rather have it without the units on it. I tried to get the program to display the full map on screen but couldn't finger it out. If it has to do with the 'movies', I haven't messed with them so that's why I don't know how to do it. You are the graphics guru [&o]

Thanks!

Yes, but I mean that some of the German units are set to 'no reconstitution'. For example, Leibstandarte is one of these units. I think the designers knew that it would eventually withdraw to 'refit' and return anyway. But if you get the unit in a silly situation and lose it, you could be without a valuable unit for a year. Same thing with the early panzer regiments, and I would think that if 'lost' they would have been one of the first things to be put back together. I'm just trying to find out how long the game takes to reconstitute.

Thanks.
