Now I had the KB following the landing TF by 0 hexes. Each have their own escort TFs following them. I know from experience that if you make an operation like that too complecated you may end up with a mess. Here you see that the KB and her escorts moved only 3 hexes while the invasion fleet moved eight, not waiting for the KB fleet to catch up as they started from the same hex and the KB is faster. I've got a few of those short range DDs in there so that may to some extent explain that. I'm really glad the invasion fleet didn't stop and wait, that would've added a day to this operation.

The tanker TF was not set to follow anyone.
That listing of the TFs was taken before the movements began.

Naturally I issued new orders for the KB; they were reset to act independantly. I should've done that in the first place.

Finally, having satisfied myself that I'd given him a good thrashing near Sinyang I withdrew back across the river in good order.

9/23/42 As you can see here, the Java operation is now straightened out, for the moment. The landings will begin tonight.

Here you see the current position of his CV TF that has just completed the circumnavigation of New Guinea, the first time that's been accomplished since Captain Cook.

Now, I have a very delicate subject to discuss. In the enclosed graphic you will see the extent of certain preparations my opponent has made. This can mean one thing and one thing only...

that's impossible to read, let me try again.

As I said, this can mean one thing and one thing only - He has developed a dastardly plan to invade the North Pole and kill Santa. I will attempt to interdict his offensive before it's too late, but I need your help. Please send all the money you have in your bank accounts to hashtag imabigfatliar immediately. There is no time to lose!

I'm doing my best, I still haven't mailed all my Valentine's Day gifts but most of the lizards on my list don't know what that is.

For clarity I should say that I'm speaking from September 23rd nineteen hundred and forty two.

Why do we spell four the way we do but spell forty the way we do?
