thanks, just stumbling forward here. :D

Japan has started sending the replay after they run the turn...it seems to help me improve my turn flipping speed.

Brilliant campaign. One thing I would like your read on: when the Allies capture a Japanese base and get the Manpower and Vehicle Factory (includes former aircraft and armament factories) points, do they actually go into the Allied pools? I repaired 14 Vehicle factories to see if I could notice a difference in Mobile Support reinforcements/replacements but haven't been able to tell. But you use Tracker and that might tell you if the vehicles are being added to the pools.
PS - the best way to see the converted vehicle factories is to click on the all-industry icon at a base. They are normally not shown as separate icons but they show up on the all-industry list. Hiding them like that suggests they are irrelevant but then why convert the aircraft and armament factories to vehicle ones instead of destroying them completely?

You might want to look at Section 15.8 on page 254 concerning the Burma Road . . .
15.8 BURMA ROAD
For the Allies, if a rail/road/trail path free of Japanese units between Tsuyung and Ledo or
between Tsuyung and Rangoon can be traced, than each day, 500 supply points per turn are
added to Tsuyung.
So, Congratulations are in order as long as no Japanese units wander behind your lines and onto the rail/road/trail network.

I think that would be much more relevant to the Japanese.

Yes, I am sure the Japanese can use captured industry, but I have never seen whether the Allies can use the vehicle factories. That's my question.

Aug 28, 1943

IJN subs still are pesky...despite sinking a bunch recently. Yesterday Essex Class Mercer took 16 sys damage, and today a 4k capacity oiler is nailed both north of Brunei.

I think Michael added a a blurb somewhere that the Burma road is open....not sure when the game engine checks for it though. But I believe I meet the requirements. I didn't meet the requirements at the beginning of the turn though.

40k supply at Rangoon already. A Chinese Corp took replacements from Rangoon but is based at Paoshan.

Tsuyung went from 504 supplies to 937...perhaps it is working although I am flying supply into Tsuyung....also flying supply out of it too. Looks like the largest single day increase at Tsuyung was 150 supplies or so in the weeks prior.

A cool c2.5k point improvement to the Allied Victory Points....Japan no longer has a minor victory.

Lowpe: Check your Rangoon base screen. It'll say "Burma Road Is Open" or something like that in the lower left if it is in fact open.

Well done, by the way. Although I probably would send most of those SE Asia forces east through Bangkok to southern China, opening up Singers is an interesting play.

BBfanboy: Good question on captured vehicle factories. I don't think such things matter, though, since either the number is high enough from CONUS and other production or it isn't used by the Allies. I've never paid attention to it. However, I do pay attention to oil, refineries, LI and HI when I capture IJ bases.

I believe manpower does work....for both sides in speeding up the replenishment of units. I know it worked for Japan on Java in one of my games.

My SWAG on Vehicle factories is that no....it doesn't contribute to Allied pools of say motorized support or bulldozers. I think it is modded in the game, because it is quite easy to strategically bomb all Japanese vehicle factories into the ground, in fact it happened to me in one game. Gives a reason for Japan to try and launch a counterattack...maybe? Of course Japan mostly sucks at counterattacks. ;)

I will definitely keep an eye out for it though If I do take a production base.

I thought this comment might need a bit of an explanation. Certainly some troops will continue to pressure the Japanese front and head to Bangkok...

but I can detach enough troops without slowing down momentum there to take Singers opening up lcu travel by sea thru the Straits and from there back up to China/Formosa etc and nab a decent shipyard that can repair major damage on heavy warships. It will benefit the pacing of my future offensives into China/Formosa etc by dramatically speeding up the amount of forces I can get there. Travel by sea: 6 to 8 hexes a day. Slogging thru to Bangkok painfully slow. ;)

Steady progress....Pegu being abandoned by the Japanese.

Fuel convoys will start soon from Rangoon to Victoria Point and that will help greatly. Waiting for more aviation engineers to arrive in Vietnam before we start a full fledged air campaign.

8 units and 32k IJA troopers reported at Saigon. Urban light terrain.

Another improvement in US torps Sept. 01, IIRC!
