RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
I got the turn today so here is the Russian Spring 1943 turn...
Some attacks against Japan in Sibiria, with mixed results. At least attrition is not what the Tenno likes... Some minor scuffles with German troops, killing on lonely tank in Northern whatever the name of the region is... Waiting for the next Axis moves in the West...
China ... has not awaken from Winter yet ...
turn sent to mikemcmann.

I am getting the feeling that Mike may be the problem.
I have gotten no response from emails to him.
Marshall Art do you think you could email him as his partner and ask what his intentions are?
Thanks

I did just that 2 days ago, got no reply yet. I'll try again.
RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
Ok guys I have heard from Mike McMann and he is dropping out of the tournament due to real life.
I have been giving this issue a lot of thought for 2 days now.
His partner Marshall Art has been a very good participant in this tournament and I dont want to see him knocked out of the tournament due to Mike dropping out. They were involved in the following games:
#------Ger--------------------JP----------------RU/CH------------WA-
01) MrQuiet----------Avatar47------------Marshall Art--------mikemcmann
02) Marshall Art------mikemcmann--------dobeln-----------BoerWar
Game 1 will be a Allied forfiet since it is still in 1943. Thus no East vs West to contend with.
Game 2 is in Spring 1946 which would be a draw if the game ended right now (not considering high water marks) and the Axis still look strong enough to hold a couple turns (just my opinion based on limited screen shots)
I have decided to call it a draw with no East vs West. Allies might have made it to the East vs West if they could get the Axis to surrender in a few turns but they would have lost WWII thus losing team points instead of gaining them like they will for being awarded a draw.
So:
Game1 Allied Forfiet no East vs West
Game2 Draw(due to Axis forfiet) no East vs West
Marshall Art will be permitted to play in Round2 if he can recruit a new team member.
Their team Score will be zero (-20 for the Loss and +20 for the draw)
Any AAR points Marshall Art has earned will also be added to his partners AAR score (since there is a definate bit of competition between members of the same team I want them to start at the same level)
*Important*
In the future any player that drops out without finding a replacement and giving that replacement your password will cause DV to your opponents of any unfinished games no matter what the game date is. And Allied opponents gaining this win will have the option to play the stock East vs West scenario.
I will tally up the scores soon.

RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
I have just tallied up the AAR points.
I am allowing all players to miss 1 post before penalties are applied.
If I made any mistakes let me know.
(edit)
Since a replacement has been found the game will be continued and obviously the previous points tally is now void.

RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
There is one clarification I also would like to request:
From what I understood each player will be awarded 0.25 if he posts additional items (SC, description). that is 1 point per year as stated in the "rules". I cannot understand how one can get more than 0.25 points per turn ACTUALLY PLAYED.
Also what does qualifiy as a description of what happened during a player's turn?
1. Example:
A couple of sentences of what battles took place etc. Cool.
SC attached: nice but you should already have received the 0.25 pts. for the description.
2nd pic or a melange of several SCs: Keep it coming! Additional Bonus: NO.
2. Example SU/China: nothing happened. What else is there to write for SU/China at times, unless you want to give secrets away? Show SC of Chinese research "efforts" instead??
Why I came up with those questions is the following (Don't get me wrong MrQuiet, you deserve every point but I don't get how you get there...)
MarshallArt 7 x .25 = 1.75 missed none = (1.75)
Comment: In 16 turns played, I found more than 7 posts that IMO qualify. Some may be up for debate but I counted 8 with pics attached ALONE.
MrQuiet 21 x .25 = 5.25 Missed none = (5.25)
Comment: remember, ONLY 16 turns played - how does this work?
If other players care to comment on what should qualify as a post eligible for the bonus that would help. It's your score guys[8D]

RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
I am glad you caught that.
I just went back to the paper I was counting them on.
All I do is check to see if there is one screenshot and some words with it for each player each season.
If there is I make a mark on a paper, after 4 marks I draw a line through the 4 marks indicateing 5. At the end I count the sections of 5 and remaining singles and divide the total by 4.
As I look now I see that MrQuiet had 3 sections plus 1 which should be 16. I was tired (another 12hr day) and apparently saw 4 sections plus 1.
So I went back and checked my tally for game 2 and again I made a mistake.
Marshall Art should be 25 / 4 =6.25 not 20 / 4 = 5. Same exact mistake
So to answer your question as long as each game season has 1 screenshot and a description it gets .25 points and can not get more than that.
I will correct the scores but since there is the good chance that these games will continue with your new partner I might just be removing them from the scoreboard.
Thank you for your well worded question.

Player update:
Sandeman will take over for Mikemcmann as my new partner. Since I most likely was the last one to receive a turn, it is the WA Spring 1943 turn.

RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
The Japanese empire continues to expand. South India is taken after the 1 Inf + Art there are damaged by naval and bomber attacks. Solomon islands + the rest of New Guinea are taken as well. Allied transport situation anywhere near Africa or the Pacific is looking bad, but they're building more fast. Bombers are in range of New Zealand, and an Axis AV could be near if Germany gets some initiative before USA gets the x5 kick in...

Summer 1943 - Russia achieves some German losses but cannot push their Army back out of Grozny. The Caucasus region seems lost... As usual not much happened in China except a sack of rice that fell to the side.
Turn sent to Sandeman.

The pacific situation is indeed looking bleak. However allied air forces are active, taking out axis resources.

Germany Fall43
The Caucuses have been captured!
Brave German paras have been sent deep into the hartland of Russia.
Russia is at production 6.
Lend lease has been stoped in its tracks destroying the shipping and the supplies on the docks.
Subs have been out patroling and doing there thing.
Allies have sustained major merchant shipping losses, maybe the people of the US will lose there taste for this war?
It does appear though that the WA are gathering in portugal for a attack on neutral Spain.

RE: Round1 2vs2 MrQuiet/Avatar47 vs MarshallArt/mikemcmann
The Japanese continue their further expansion, concentrating on establishing air bases in multiple island groups north of New Zealand. Madagascar as well as some other S Indian ocean islands are taken, with subs patrolling the waters as well. E India to be taken next turn after reinforcements are brought to S India. Australia is well defended, but supplies are too low there, and with no transport chain to the US, no allied action is expected to come from that theater, therefore the Japs will retain the initiative until they do. Axis victory points are at 80 right now. My Japs can be expected to gain at least 3 more next turn. What's nice is that when the Indian theater is secure, then surplus forces there can be expected to reinforce the central and southeast pacific theaters...
