We didnt get a definitive answer as far as the combat upgrades.

As for advanced economy, we already started the game and only a few people were for it.  Unless a majority want to restart I dont think we should.

HiHi

As I undetand it for both FoF & CoG the upgrades are programed into the PBEM QC (on a stastical basis or somthing like) so the word from the Designers is, your choice of upgrades do affact QC.

Andrew, we still need your email address to forward completed turns!

Sorry for the delay. For some reason I didn't get the email to my googlemail account. Someone has now sent it to hotmail. When I get home tonight, I'll send in my turn asap. Sorry for the delay.

Also does anyone know - all of the military research upgrades you can buy w/ experience on the national level and the unit level - do they have any effect on the quick battle resolution that occurs during PBEM? For example if I buy ordre mixtre (spelling?) - does it affect combat resolution for PBEM?

As mentioned by Kingmaker, that is atleast how it works in CoG and FoF, so I would put my money on that it does matter. It is usually one of 3;
a) + to damage
b) + to defence
c) + to morale

It is usually easy to determine which are a) or b). The ones that does not seem to fit either of these are usually c)
(this is however based on the idea that this works as in FoF/CoG).

It would be very valuable to get definitive documentation on the impact of improvements/upgrades in instant combat.

from the manual, section 2.5.2

A list of Upgrades and their functionality is given in the in-game Appendix. Most Upgrades improve the performance of certain units in Detailed Combat. (These improvements are also abstracted for Quick Combat).

I guess this means that it is indeed factored in.

Yes, but wouldn't you like to know the details of how it is factored in?

Put my turn back in as requested.  Didnt check my email today so sorry for the delay.

Andrew, By any chance did you read that post by Matto in the other PBEM thread about the crashing problem he was getting? He had some kind of fix or workaround that he was using when he got the crashing problem.

Might be worth checking it out.

Sorry, should we re-submit our turns? Had an email for a group on my hotmail that I deleted (thought it was a virus). Prussia turn 1 is ready to go!

Sounds like I may be the hold up. Eric said the files combined fine with his machine.

Anyone else want to try combining them (I'll send you all EXCEPT yours) and then you can become the host.

Hey Andrew,

I'd volunteer, but I wonder how many of us are still around (of course I can't guarantee it'll work for me either). We might need a roll call or start a new one?

Either way I'm still up for a game. Sorry to hear you can't get it to work... perhaps after an update/patch.

HiHi

Sweden is still with you.  Cheers for volanteering IW

Just a thought if we are all still here, and could maybe start again, howsabout inviting Anthropoid to fill the AI spot?

As Turkey is a bit of a bummer in regard to slow development etc, I could take that over and Anthropoid could have my slot as Sweden, think the game would be better with a full house and we are only on T1.

Thoughts ???

All the Best
