Turn 6

Post by Fallschirmjager »

This just gets worse and worse.
You guys may be able to make it 60 turns but ill be lucky to make it to turn 30.
Ive lost 30% of my units in 6 short turns. But ill kill all of you nazi bastards I can to make it easier on Goblin.

101st: In eindhoven myu offensive is over. I can move very few units and these are missing half of their men. Vegal is over for me... :(
In Grave im still pusing but im being attacked from behind and I can see reinforcements rushing into the town.

82nd:
This area is still on the up and up as well.
Grossbeek in mine but its no bridge...:(
Fierce fghting on the edge of Nijmegan as I take on some infantry and 2 PzIV's I wish jess would of give the German pure tanks...I do better against those than anything.

1st:
Its getting bad up here I spot a panther more HT's and medium tanks in town and across the river...
The poor brits wont be getting help anytime either.

I havnt taken a single bridge....:(

I, too, begin to despair. I'm bleeding a tank for every two hexes I move. Thats not real good. I hate to beat this into the ground, but some arty to suppress the Germans would help.... Was the original artillery setup used for the playtest?

Anyways, I am at the outskirts of Eindoven, where I am killing a 150mm infantry gun. One 88 has been abandoned on the road, and the other didn't bother to shoot back as I hosed it with MG's. Then, right next to the 88 on the road, a Bunker opened up on the third vehicle to pass it, killing it.

I now have at least 5 vehicles broken down.

preparing a welcome ofr XXX corps

Post by hellcat »

We have engaged and destroyed another platoon of airborne in Eindhoven. Fighting in Grave West has intensified considerably and we must report the loss of two tanks in Nijmegan to bazooka fire from airborne who have entered the south west of town.

We are preparing to welcome XXX corps in Eindhoven sector.

Regular forces in Arnhem report skirmishing on the Western Edge of town and also of the destruction of an enemy bren carrier in town.

Further reports at this time are of a classified nature

dascat out.

Fighting Rages

Post by Orzel Bialy »

My SS units continue to pry away parts of Arnhem from our British foe. Another Bren Carrier es Kaputt...and four more units are routed and sent fleeing westward.
The bridge is a bit more secure now...but can not be deemed safe just yet. My SS infantry units will correct that problem shortly...as I build the "anvil" here at the bridge...against which my other units approaching from other varoius directions will "hammer" the remaining AB to.
Elsewhere Nijmegen and Einhoven still hold out.
XXX Corps appears to be trying to pick up steam in it's advance...but that is OK...the SS have a surprise for them as well.

Do you guys have a copy of the starting file for the game?

Or how did you generate the order of battle for each side? Was each player allowed to pick? Did the ref pick?

I'd be interested in seeing the exact forces being used by each player! :)

NaKA, but I'll be good....I won't even ask :D
I'm sure my buddy Goblin will be asking you to head over to the "Screen Names" thread in the Hall of Fame Section to explain what the story is behind your screen-name choice, so be prepared.
M4Jess selected and arranged all the forces in the field...we, the four players took it from there. You will probably hear from Goblin about his lack of arty too....:D Sorry Gob ole boy...couldn't pass that one up.
Unfortunately I don't still have the first file, you might want to PM Jess though...he might be the one to help you there.

Welcome to the forum....or the "NutHouse" as it is sometimes referred to. ;)

British tanks rolled up the streets, Stuarts packing three MG's each. German infantry put up a brief fire-fight, but died rapidly. The Lieutenant in the lead Stuart rode his hatch, keeping low and watching for the American's.

He knew they were here, and could not have missed their drop zones. There was too much damage and smoke around. At least some had to be here. He ordered his section mate to the outskirts of town in the west, where more German infantry were intercepted shy of town.

Where was the 101st? He reached for the radio...

Ok, got to the 101st guys... Way too late! There aren't any left to rescue. Some German infantry paid for that. Lost three tanks to breakdowns... Don't need German guns.

Airborne around Grave, Veghal, Nijmegan, Arnhem and also Eindhoven have all been engaged by Werhmact forces this turn. S. W. of Eindhoven a platoon have been caught in the open by the arrival of XXX corps... soon Goblin soon!!!

Constricting like a Boa....

Post by Orzel Bialy »

My SS units continue to slowly push back the British 1st AB units that hold the SW sector of Arnhem.
HT's and armored cars move forward cautiously...and blast whatever enemy units our accompanying infantry can spot or draw fire from. Another VH falls to my victorious stormtroopers...and with it's fall that now leaves only one in British hands within the city of Arnhem.
Even better, more infantry arrive to bolster the units already present at Arnhem! Soon I may have crushing numbers arrayed against my English foes!
Elsewhere a few FJ units and Special Ops position themselves for a fight...Goblin will not be allowed to advance without a fight!
