Steve - thank you for the update! Now if you would be so kind as to tell us what date that is (in game), we can better follow the course of the war relative to WWII(a).

The Gorn has not been helpful in that regard either, but he is posting about technical issues again from time to time so that may explain the slowdown a bit. I think he tried feeding his computer bird seed, and when that didn't work he recently tried squirrel meat ... [X(]

I'm sorry , I should have included it. It's March 9, 1942.

Geoff may have his flaws , but his use of the I-Boats has been very effective. He keeps his boats on my shipping lanes , but just outside of my medium air search. Only PBY's pick him up, and right now I'm pretty short of them. I usually send a ASW TF four hexes ahead of my convoys , which gives me time to turn and avoid the subs , but recently he got a hold on one of my tanker convoys , sinking two tankers and a AK. One of the tankers was a 35 pt one! That's like loosing a cruiser!

My one saving grace has been ironically the vessel over which our debate lead me to challenge him to this PBEM. My DD's are mostly ASW rating 2 , with the vast majority of them not upgrading to 6 till Mid April. But 3/4 of my old "four pipers" are available to be upgraded to , and have been to APD's(ASW rating 6) since early January. Had that not been available to me , I'd have been latterly sunk by now.

He's used his subs most aggressively for anti-shipping. My best defense has been not to be where he's looking. [:D]

What are the Naval skills of your Tanker Commanders? As IJN, Aurorus gave a good tip of putting better Naval skill commanders on tankers. Coincidence maybe, but Ive changed all my Tanker Commanders to a Naval skill of 55 or above and Ive had less sinkings and more misses from sub attacks.

Welcome. Replace the Civilian Commanders with Military ones, which I believe starts at Naval skill 50.

Of course the Gorn is not there! Gorns don't DO milk! If you can find a nice carton of blood you might find his image there!
Otherwise, the Gorn is in his garden, planting weeds to lure butterflies and planting birdbath traps for his feathered food.

A garden-variety Gorn.
