RE: SILLY's SWANSONG NO BRIAN G
Brian has speeded up a bit in the last couple of turns, probably as he's doing fewer attacks, and I've just sent back T59 so here's 57 south picture

Rostov closer up

The encircled tank blob near Donbass are eliminated by allied forces whilst German forces concentrate on the eastern flank where the Bolsheviks got a lucky breakthrough (see battle screen) and planted a tank xxx next to Rostov. One of the (dis)advantages of this not being a proper boardgame is that I could not kick the board over. No proper Englishman would kick his dog and wife-kicking is far too dangerous.
Newly arrived units from 4 Panzer army pushed it back and put an extremely strong ring around the stack. This cleared the rail line so the JU52s could fly and the rail-head could advance 4 more hexes

An out of supply Russian inf div SW of Krasnodar surrendered rather than retreat and 18th Army pushed forwards towards Makhachkala.

Since my job prescribes remedies for complaints, more units versus mere soldiers would better ease your pain.
Silly, have you disbanded any HQ's (Luff) to help your replacement pool ??

Typical doctor [;)]. Prescribes a remedy but is unable to say how the patient can get it.

Typical doctor [:-]
1 Does not examine the patient properly. I remember being told that doctors only have regard to about 10-20% of the evidence when making a diagnosis. If you look at screenshot of destroyed/disbanded units on this page, you will see I haven't disbanded any HQs. I always used to disband the RHQs on T1 but can't be done nowadays. I will, however, consider your helpful idea when I get the turn back.
2 After "diagnosing" the problem only offers an unobtainable remedy. I can't get more units..................
No surprise then that about 10 years ago only about 17% of medical practice was based on proper evidence per Cochrane studies, though I suppose/hope it may have gone up to 18% by now.
Keep taking the dried frog pills[;)]

Luckily you now have those RHG HQs doing really useful auto repair!
I never understood why people disbanded those in 1941. Gives you only about 1 turn worth of manpower, but in 1941 is when you need them for targeted auto repair. In my current game they auto repaired partisan attacks in 75% of times already during logistics phase and they also created some mini loops to render partisan attacks ineffectual most of the time. I think during late game, when you withdraw to a network already in place, is when they should be disbanded.

The extra '41 manpower was better (worth an extra division) as I've never found partisans to be useful/threatening unless they got a rare lucky strike.
They do disband now at some point late war which is why they can't be disbanded by the player

It's always good to regard and accept criticism of any type, founded or unfounded. But common sense always dictate.
85% of diagnosis are made by the history of a patients complaint and their past medical history. However too much info creates intellectual "noise" where it's hard to decide what's important or not.
Pediatric patients come for care with a single problem at least 80% of the time. Diagnoses are relatively easy and solutions quick to make. Cases that are more challenging require close follow-up. Most of these are illnesses that progress over time and quick diagnosis is impossible.
Specific diagnostic algorithms (as Cochrane studies artificially use) are are cumbersome and don't replace medical judgment or acumen.
My batting average is a little better than 17 or 18%.
NB Many patients ignore good advice or are noncompliant with treatment. I think you're guilty.

Fair enough
I may decide not to follow advice (advice is nor more than that as you know) but I'm extremely compliant with treatment once I have agreed to it.

Us rednecks chew Red Bull, fish, watch Nascar and tear up dirt roads in our 40K trucks to treat most our complaints. A buddy of mine solved his blood pressure problem by dating hairy women. Had to get a hunting license first.

I know that your love of the theatre helps you to relax, but does your dressing up help your patients to relax too?

It seems a little unlikely on the face of it. No wonder they prefer the options to which you referred above.

That has to be one of the most disturbing images I've ever seen - now I will never look at another one of Bozo's posts without thinking of this photo. Thanks a lot SF!

RE: SILLY's SWANSONG NO BRIAN G
I suppose I should get back to T57
Losses 5,2K to 36K, air a rather feeble 97 to 89. 5 tank xxx (1 guard) 2 inf xx 1 tk x and 3 regts destroyed. Almost 600 AFV killed and 1280 trucks captured [:)].
I will join Adolf in a bit of carpet-chewing if I haven't finally secured the southern rail line with the extra units brought in during the last 2 weeks. I would if we had any carpets here anyway..... Only risk is a well-directed partisan unit and these can't be prevented since they have been allowed to damage rail lines in an axis ZOC [:@]. To minimise the risk, I've been marching units 1 hex at a time (ie doing a partisan sweep) down and adjacent to the key rail hexes (ie where I depend on a single line either side of Rostov) as I think that may displace any partisan unit they stop on. Don't think that moving through a partisan unit causes it to displace.
My worry is that Brian may have delayed me for long enough so that Baku will not be obtainable quickly enough to enable me to grab the remaining 7 VPs I will need from elsewhere, or at all, though I think the former is the more likely.

Hey, that's my old buddy Twisty_the_Clown. He used to do birthdays and bar mitzvahs but soon developed a crack habit. Kind of a sad story.

So close yet so far, your opponent is one of the most tenacious I have seen.

Getting his units back FOC & having Baku as a supply source must be a boon because when you had me in a similar position I was left with no real choice but to resign, as I was unable to gather sufficient forces to blunt your advance.

For the first time in this AAR, the Finns get the starring role, as they continue to clear the Janis line.
