It looks like these "can't find device" warnings are related to convoy reinforcements that have aircraft in them. I'd need to fix that somehow.
And the group withdrawal alerts are also misguided and I need to look into that.

Agreed that both are annoying.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Hop to it, Floyd! What are you getting paid for? Oh... wait....

Seriously, I still appreciate all the work you and Damian put into this beautiful tool over the years. Thank you! 8-)

(The aircraft withdrawal thing is annoying, though)

I am a little ashamed to say that Floyd has held up the Fort without me for years. He deserves all the credit for remaining active and answering all your questions.

But if he ever needs me to spaghettify the code some more, I stand ready to dive back in and screw it up some more.

Take it easy, fella's.

@GP - I'm lurking close. I'll try to be around a little more as I miss this game and community.
@Banana - I left you a comment on your ship production video. Well done, Sir. My video's from 13 years ago look dated (a nice way to say "crap") in comparison. They should really remove my videos from the pinned topics. Google even pulled them from "Sites" as that went defunct. That's how old they are.

Thx - I'll join your discord, can't say I'll be around much, but it's always good to meet new people and contribute back where I can.

I've got two versions of WitP AE, 26b and v27.2 and one version of Java.

Eveyrthing works correctly with 26b.

But I get this error everytime I try and initiate a new tracker database for v27.2

D:\Matrix Games\WitP AE 27\Tracker J>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre-1.8\bin\Java" -Xms512m -Xmx768m -jar "WitPTracker.jar" nomap
Initializing WitP Tracker AE database.
WitP Tracker AE tables loaded in 1 seconds
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -55
at java.lang.String.substring(Unknown Source)
at witptracker.TextFileHandler.LoadOperationsFile(TextFileHandler.java:954)
at witptracker.Main.main(Main.java:259)

D:\Matrix Games\WitP AE 27\Tracker J>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

I've copied the Tracker folder that works for 26b and rename the Dir=[D:\Matrix Games\WitP AE 27] which is where v27.2 is installed. Created a new shortcut but no dice. Is there a problem between Tracker and v27.2?

Just noticed. I've got the four db files in the tracker folder during initializing. If I run the .bat again it opens, I no longer get the error. I only get it when initializing.

I just checked it again under v27 and there are no issues.
Although it does sound like you need to start again, delete the trackerdb.* files and try again.

If that fails, then I'll need the scenario number, side etc. The String index out of range: -55 may be something to do with the scenario specifically, but Floyd did a fair amount of work quashing those problems.

It's in the code that loads the operations.txt file. Could be a bad character or some other parsing error. You may be able to just ignore it.

It's scen #1. Historical start. I'll ignore it.

Here the Japan ops report if it helps isolate the error.

Hi All...

I am trying to install Tracker and have gone through the troubleshooting steps on the installation website. I downloaded/installed the (hopefully) correct versions of C++ library and Java (vcredist_x86 and jre-6u45-windows-i586). Still getting the error
"Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform".

Changed the path in the .bat file to Java 32 bit per the directions ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"), got
Unsupported major.minor version 52.0

On the support page it mentions a zip file being at the bottom of the page, there is nothing there. I am using Windows 11 (install was flawless on my old Win 10 machine). What am I doing wrong?

Downloaded a different Java file (jre1.8) and tweaked the bat file to read
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre-1.8\bin\java.exe" -Xms512m -Xmx640m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"

And it works. Hopefully this will help someone else in the future.

Going to move my game to a laptop for an extended trip. If I install Tracker on the laptop will I still see the data from the turns I played on my desktop? When I get back and move it from the laptop will I still see the data?

Anything I need to tweak along the way?

Thanks

Copy all of the trackerdb files (five of them when the program isn't running, I believe) to the laptop and it will pick up where you left off on the desktop. Then do the opposite when you're back. All of the per-game data is in those files, so that's what you need to move around.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.
