RE: OKH Plan 1942 - Alpha AAR
(DAR) Moscow has fallen, now its big decision time. 3rd PzA will move south, I need to move at least 3 more divisons to the Leningrad area. Also Moscow will require 3 divisions for garrison...Hum...

Congratulations indeed, well played.
I'll move the questions I have regarding the latest production screenshots to the Q&A thread.

Indeed, good job. Could you post the losses of both sides again? Given how much the red bear has left, particularly air and armor, it appears to me that he has traded too much ground without serious fighting. Particularly he did not really contest your important advances to railroad crossings, or Moscow, if he truly has so much fresh material sitting behind the line.
In 1942, the Russians still sacrificed men and material at a high rate in desperate defensive and offensive measures, which should hopefully be represented now by the loss figures you caused. Of course AI playing in a very historical manner will make it easier for a human player to beat with his pre-knowledge, but since this game focuses so much on historical accuracy, of course also AI doctrine should closely mimic the historical fights. On the other hand, it would be cool if at the start of a scenario the player could choose between "AI historical doctrine", and "AI fictional" behavior, that would for example also include already smarter employment of its armor in the early years of the war. That would make playing against AI surely more interesting.

Nicely played PD.
Your plan was a good one and you executed it with percision and efficiency.
Your AAR demonstrates why we all anticipate this game with such excitment. I havent invaded the Soviet Union since AH Stalingrad many years ago and cant wait to get to it once again.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results. Winston Churchill

People are talking like it's all over. Have you got the nod to close this down now, Jon - I seem to recall you had till December?
If not...
"Soldiers - Moscow has fallen, and Stalin has run for the Urals with his tail between his legs! Our next big thrust will be for Leningrad..." [;)]
My suggestion is made in order to both beat back the attacks up North and stabilise the front, in the short term, then to drive North to link up with the Finns. Ideally this will be on both sides of Ladoga but certainly to the East of the lake, and thus to (eventually) free up the Finns wider deployment zone, shorten the front, destroy production and manpower sources in Leningrad etc. I rememebr HardSarge taking out the last port on the east of Ladoga and this was the nail in the coffin for Lenin's city. So a whole army: armour for the main punch (at least one strong corps) - and this is a good time of year for armour in swamps, isn't it? - and two infantry corps, plus the heavy guns, aircraft etc... And another infantry corps for the immediate shoring up in front of Leningrad. 3Pz seems just right for this job?
Elsewhere, straighten the line, reorganise the armour as reserves, and dig in - maybe slowly push for the Don bend by Rostov, plus local counters to snip off his armour? What a (hard won) luxury to have some reserves and opportunity for redeployment. After Moscow, it's like an entirely new scenario. Hoth deploys to the Steppes to smash the threatening Russian armour, with Kleist to Rostov, and Model possibly even pulling back behind the canal, and providing a mobile reserve, 4th(?) army provide the Moscow garrison and deploys to the SE, and 2nd Pz redeploys its line across the front to the Oka. This allows the army currently there to cover Kleist's redeployment. OK, I'll shut up now...
Well done and I hope you are able to press the attack before Herr Billings redploys you to another command!

RE: OKH Plan 1942 - Alpha AAR
Fairly low casualties for the Soviets if that's an "end of combat" screenshot, especially as the attacker/defender values are roughly 3:1. A 2:1 exchange rate isn't really going to win the Germans the war.
I know this is technically a question, but it's relevant to what's happening: does the combat system calculate odds and results like WitP, where even if you miss the, say, 3:1 odds by 1 AV, you'll get regular 2:1 odds?

(AAR) Manstein pluged the gaps. Another ID arrived and 2 more are on the way. It does over burden his command but I have no choice right now...BtW Comrade the loss ratio in armor was quite high in that last attack...

(AAR) Hoth continued his push... IX Corps was attached to AGC and is set to garrison Moscow...4nd Army is free now and I have a surprise on what happens with that command...3rd PzA is moving to railheads to move rest of their units to the Voronezh front...2nd PzA continued to push east...Lack of trucks are hurting supply as I have to many units in need...

(AAR) 2nd Armys right is getting hit hard, the gaps were filled but more units need to be pulled from other areas... Kleist sent 2 PzD's to press the flank to relieve pressure...

In the above screenie it mentions the 800th Gun Batn. I assume this is a unit with StugIII`s.Should not it be called the "800th Assualt Gun Batallion"? Just a thought.

Oil, Oil, Oil!! Head south and get the oil fields!! I remember a quote from a captured panzer commander as he was marched to the rear on the western front ... " When I saw US troops using gasoline to wash vehicle parts I knew the war was over."

True, but the Soviets seem to have a fair amount of tanks left.
-
As to the latest screenshot:
At 18:1 odds I'd expect the Soviets to be pulverised.
I'm also curious what the 800th Gun Battalion is. I know there was a 800. schwere Artillerie Abteilung with 35.5mm and 42mm mortars. However, I thought you were using those around Moscow. There might've been another 800 Artillery Abteilung.
The Tigers eat what???? and exposed field kitchen?
He means the Tigers will mop the floor with almost anything in open terrain.
