This is very odd as I am unable to repeat it but will investigate further... any one else finding this issue? This will help me narrow it down depending on how prevalent it is.

Just tested again and even with the update it still works fine for me. I posted a '44 scenario just in case someone wants to play me with them as the Allies. PM me for a passcode.

Loaded V1.01.02

I still have a problem with the dialogue boxes not opening in the lobby. I click on Join and the Password boxes flashes and disappears from view. it is still there as I can start typing and it reappears.

Same issue with the challenge. Boxes flash and disappear. Clicking in the Lobby brings them back up. But clunky.

Same for me.

Hubert

Thanks, Hubert. Just wanted to acknowledge here I was able to play my turn when I went back to the original machine I had started the PBEM from. I was traveling last weekend and put the game and patch on my Surface, but couldn't get the PBEM to start. Got back to my home machine on Sunday and it was fine.

There are 2 games in 'My Games' that need to be deleted. Both were because of issues trying to make them work. I cannot delete them and I am assuming the opponent cannot either or maybe they are gone from theirs. We were able to start other games so there are no issues regarding the games.

What if I want to delete a game, resign from a game for any reason. i want them out of my lobby for any personal reason. Will we be able to clear those games?

At the moment the only way to have those removed permanently is to officially resign from them and then the server will remove them after a few weeks. Unfortunately this is beyond my control and simply just how the server handles the game files.

In multiplayer, should the additional US tanks sent to Egypt event still fire based on how well the Axis is doing in North Africa ??? I can understand this if playing against the AI but not against another human payer ? This happened in my multiplayer game as the Axis approached Alexandria...

Hi

It did take place in real life. It does cost the US 200 MPPs, which coming at a time before they have joined the Allies, the cost will slow down their research progress prior to entering the war.

This is from the Notes section (as I wrote it) to the US Decision Event:

Winston Churchill called on the USA to send an urgent supply of tanks to Egypt when it was seriously threatened in 1942.

The US authorities responded promptly, dispatching 300 new Sherman tanks and 100 self propelled guns. Given that much of the US army lacked modern equipment at this time, this was a generous move, one that helped to swing the balance towards the Allies in the Desert.

Maybe when the US is already in the war, but not in 1940.

Seems like this is artificially punishing one side for doing well. Again, against the AI no problem, but a human Allied player can easily abuse this knowledge to fire the event which just leads to gamey tactics. Same for a human Axis player... Why do well and push towards Alexandria if you know that the Allies will get an additional tank unit on top of the 7th armour.

Each side already gets their influx of units from the main North African events, but the additional events should be AI only !!!

Does the event land a US unit in Egypt?
By Sept of 1940 FDR had already issued the 'shoot on sight' order for German subs and concluded the destroyers for bases deal. Their thumb was clearly on the scale while not officially a belligerent.

Source please ? I believe that the first attacks by the US military only happened in 1941, and lend-lease was only signed into law in March of 1941. Having an event that gifts the British a tank unit in Egypt in the fall of 1940 is not right.

There are 2 events that are meant to help the AI when a human player is doing exceptionally well in North Africa. This one being discussed and the Axis one where Rommel's buddy Schörner (sp?) shows up. They should only fire when playing against the AI.

Sorry, 1941 was the year the shoot on sight order was given, after the Greer incident, but before any official declaration of war by the U.S.

I can't speak to whether DEs are supposed to be AI only, etc. I only looked up one to see how Russian mobilization works after pissing off Stalin playing against the AI.

I've been checking and the setting for this Decision has always been (as it's one that was introduced earlier in the game series) that the US is neutral, but as we all know, the US was in the war by 1942 when these tanks and artillery pieces were shipped to Egypt.

So I think it must have been an oversight to have it set to when the US is neutral, and changing it to when the US has joined the Allies will be more appropriate.

In terms of whether it should happen during a Multiplayer game, as it was a historic event that took place, I don't see a reason not to have it happen. It can of course always be disabled in the Scripts when starting a game.
