Allied Turn February 25, 1943

Previous Axis Turn:
Frozen in the Arctic. Snow & Frozen in Russia. Snow in Western Europe and Ukraine.

German, Romanian and Bulgarian Corps all attack a Greek Corps in the mountains. The Bulgarian Corps is the only one to suffer any damage (1 point).
A German HQ and Fighters are now in/near Nish, Yugoslavia.
German Maritime Bombers in Taranto attack 2 Commonwealth Light Cruisers. Each mission is intercepted by fighters from Carriers and the bombers take 3 hits (2 from interceptions 1 from a CL), while damaging the CLs 3 points each.

An Italian Army moves north of Cairo.

A German Army moves into Qurna and is surprised by the 7th Armored just southeast of the city behind a river. The Germans take 2 damage (down from 9), while the armor takes 3. :(
A Soviet Corps in Ahwaz is revealed.

Axis forces pull back away from Kaluga.
German Panzers do 2 damage to the Russian Corps next to them southeast of Tula.
The German sub moves away from the Russian Destroyer.

Allied Turn
Frozen in the Arctic. Frozen in Finland. Frozen and snow in Russia. Frozen in Western Europe and Ukraine. Rain in England. Clear in Iraq. Clear in Egypt

A Greek Corps pulls back so as not to be next to 4 Axis Corps.
HMS Courageous and Formidable (CVs) counter strike the German Condors (Maritime Bombers) in Taranto. Each Carrier's wing is intercepted by German fighters in Naples.
Results: CV Air -2 damage, CV Air -2 damage, GE FTR -3 damage, GE Maritime Bombers Shattered (3 damage).

The Americans take Alexandria with the defenders doing a single point of damage to an American Tactical bomber.
2 US Armies & 1 US Corps complete the job. The Corps takes Alexandria while the 2 Armies press up to the Nile next to a German Garrison in Cairo and the other Italian Army to the north of it.
A third Italian (or rather 2nd after the one in Alexandria was destroyed) army is spotted in Port Said. 2 British cruisers then blockade Port Said.
American B17B (level 2 Strat bombers) then strike Cairo for 4 damage and Port Said for 4 damage.
HMS Ark Royal, from off the Palestine coast, sends scouts planes east of Amman, Jordan and finds another Italian Army in Jerusalem.

The 7th Armored in Iraq retreats southward towards Kuwait.

The Russians press northwards from the Crimea, with a Corps moving next to a German Corps along the road, a 2nd Russian Corps attacks a Bulgarian Garrison in Kherson doing 2 damage, and a 3rd Soviet Corps moves behind the one against the German Corps.
The Russians apply pressure, but no attacks, on the flanks of the Germans at the Moscow front. There are 2 Russian Armies and a Corps next to Rzhev along with another Russian Army visible to the northeast of the town.
The Russian Armored Train is outfitted with Neon running lights, a super charger, a custom paint job and vanity (license) plates.

Turkey moves towards the Allies +9% (and presumably stops shipments to Germany as they swing to the Allied side of influence)

The results of surprising contacts are often, ehm, surprising, especially for the defender.

It certainly was for me with an entrenched level 2 Armor unit that was also behind a river. [X(]

That's what I meant, you probably wouldn't suffer such casualties in case of a "normal" attack, and in case of a surprise I would expect the surprised unit to suffer huge losses, but not the defender.

Taxman is winning big time....[:(]

I fight on never the less until he asks me to give up... (Pls ask me!)

He sunk most of the Italian Navy and can move freely in the Med. Go for Egypt as right now then Italy and binding up my forces in the Balkans. By summer of 43 the Russians will move west and on top of this there might be a D-Day. My strong forces in Iraq can't get out of there. Taxman played very well and is the best Navy player I've seen so far but that doesn't help against Sugars strategy. I tried to do what Sugar did to me... it looked so easy but it isn't.

It's hard to say.
On one hand Germany is likely to sew up Iraq and declare war on Saudi and deny the Wallies 100 MPP/turn (UK is already without the 56 Iraq per turn and the USA's 38/turn from Saudi will go as well); and their units feel near impenetrable to Russia attack. If he can go on a strong offensive in Russia and have enough strength to come back and beat the Americans away from Cairo he might still pull out a victory.

On the other hand, he hasn't taken any of the big 3 Russian cities and all those units in Iraq might've been partially why he hasn't. Additionally there may not be enough units there to both kick the Americans away from Cairo and to plough into and through Persia. Even if there is, it will take time to do it. While Germany has Greece contained and will likely push them back, it is a pretty nice air base to go after Italy and means that Sicily could potentially be skipped, or to launch strategic bombers from.

Offensive actions for the Wallies are still somewhat limited due to the horrendous casualties the UK has taken and the subsequent damage to her economy. However, it took a lot of time for the Axis to break through Egypt and a fair amount of MPP damage to Germany as well. Is it enough for the Russian war machine to switch from survival into offensive mode? We'll see.

Taxman is winning big time.... I fight on never the less until he asks me to give up... (Pls ask me!) He sunk most of the Italian Navy and can move freely in the Med. Go for Egypt as right now then Italy and binding up my forces in the Balkans. By summer of 43 the Russians will move west and on top of this there might be a D-Day. I tried to do what Sugar did to me... it looked so easy but it isn't.

I missed Rannug61's response as I was typing mine up.
I'd like to address it:

1. I'm not going to ask anyone I play to ever give up. However, I will accept resignation, if not with full graciousness, at least without complaint.
2. The destruction of the Italian Navy was due to multiple reasons. The biggest were that: a) Germans never came out of the Baltic except with an odd sub or two; b) I find that CVs in the Atlantic are often Meh due to the frequency of storms;
c) You didn't protect the Italian fleet, so a CV I was expecting to use as escort wound up being able to launch it's own raids.
3. Maybe I'm missing something, but if the Russians start moving forward in the summer 43, it will be on the edges and flanks and due to number oozing. I'm waiting on and still have a lot to build of their expensive offensive units. And their planes are still far behind in Tech.
4. As for D-Day, I did consider it seeing as how poorly defended the French coast was (nothing but Garrisons and I think some of the Western ports may even have been empty). I rejected it because I felt it would only amount to an expensive distraction as you would rail forces back and crush it and then send them back to Eastern Front.
That didn't seem necessary as your push forward slowed down and then the weather changed.
5. Yes that strong force in Iraq is trapped there, I wondered why you switched your push toward Stalingrad in 1941, to Moscow in 1942. I sacrificed tons of UK MPP/units to slow the drive through the Middle East to pay for time for the Russians to mount some defenders in Persia that would buy more time to the point where things stalemated against the Germans.
It worked, but the UK is low on units and hurting in their income. Not as bad one might think, because seeing what was going to happen, I invested in Industry Tech for them. For the cost of 2 Armies I now have level 4 Industry and am at the beginning of starting research for level 5. It has finally made it to the point of almost making up for the lost income each turn.
In the meantime I could barely keep up reinforcing my units (and they started suffering poor morale) and try and keep up with some Tech; but that meant not buying new units or even replacing the shattered ones until just the past few turns.
6. Thank you for the compliment, I find it mildly amusing because the Naval system is the game mechanic I dislike/disagree with the most. Additionally, if I had been better at the naval game all those German land units would never have made it to Libya in the first place.
7. I, or rather the UK mostly, had below average luck with the weather. The UK and USSR both didn't get favorable breakthroughs (i.e in critical areas). On the other hand I got incredibly lucky that Spain didn't go over through Diplomacy. If I understand Sugar's basic strategy at some point if Spain isn't going to come to the Axis via Diplomacy then you force the issue (see complaints about the related DE)

Not getting Spain with diplo was bad since it's a big part of the Sugar strategy. If you don't get Spain the easy way then you have to force it by DE (forgot the #)
Since I lost the better part of the Italian Navy this was not really an option... At least I'm not clever enough to do it given the tragical situation in the Med. Made many other errors but this Navy armagedon overshadows everything else.

Allied Turn April 8, 1943

Previous Axis Turn:
Frozen in the Arctic. Snow & Frozen in Russia. Clear in Western Europe and Ukraine.

Axis forces press in on Greece. 2 sets of German Bombers (1 Med, 1 TAC) hit the Greek Corps on the right doing 2 damage. They are intercepted by UK fighters that can't break through the German escorts.
Ground attacks on Greek positions follow doing no damage, but a Bulgarian Corps threatens to cut off the road on the flank.

Tactical bombers attack the UK Corps in Basra, UK Fighters intercept and fair better than those in Greece. The bombers fail to do any damage to the Corps.
The Germans creep closer to Kuwait.
It appears that the Germans in the middle east have decided to close out Iraq/Kuwait before doing anything else.

The Bulgarian Garrison flees Kherson and is replaced by a Panzer Grenadier. The German Mech then attacks the Russian Corps south of it twice, after the two attacks both units have taken 2 damage.
The German Panzer southeast of Tula attacks a Soviet Army to it's north. The Panzer does 1 damage while taking 2 itself, and declines to take a 2nd attack.
The Finns attack (missed if it was the Corps or the Light Tanks), and the Katyusha Rockets fire in defense. I believe neither side took damage (none to Russians, didn't hear any 'hit' for the attacker)
The Finnish Army falls back and is replaced by a Corps.

A German Armor unit moves into Rouen France.

Allied Turn
Frozen in the Arctic. Frozen in Finland. Rain and Mud in Russia. Mud in Western Europe and Ukraine. Rain in England. Clear in Iraq. Clear in Egypt

The United States of America officially refuses to recognize Vichy, and declares it's intent to free the French Colonies of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.
Operation Torch is launched and landings at Algiers and Tunis are met with mild to no resistance. US Corps take both cities, the one at Tunis takes 2 damage from landing mishaps.
In Egypt the B17s carpet bomb the Italian Army north of Cairo and 2 damage over 2 runs.
American Tactical bombers do 3 more damage to the Italian Army at the cost of 1 damage.
The 1st US Army attacks, does 2 damage and forces the Italians to retreat. The 2nd US Army moves into the vacated hex and does 2 more damage and forces another retreat.
The US Corps in Alexandria then races by Cairo, seizes the town of Suez and destroys the now 1 strength Italian Army (or maybe just shattered it?) at the cost of 1 damage.
The US Armies and Corps then shuffle a hex or so in an aggressive attempt to cut off Cairo from the Italian Army is Port Said.*
ULTRA information is passed on to HMS Bulldog and she finds U-73 in the Barents Sea. Bulldog does 4 damage to the level 2 sub while taking 1 back.
The Russian Destroyer tries her luck and forces a dive.**

The Greeks fall back as well as they can in the mud.

Bomber Command sends the Lancasters after the Saar mines and gets a rude surprise running into an AA unit that does 2 damage to the Strategic Bombers. The bombers do 4 damage to the mine.
They then bomb the Hague and do 3 damage while taking another point back.
It now appears that strategic bombing in Western Europe is not worth the effort. At least not until much higher levels of bombers.

In the Crimea an 8 strength Soviet Corps attacks an 8 strength Panzer Grenadier in Kherson (both at supply 4). The Germans take 1 damage, the Soviets 2. The Soviet Corps falls back into the swamp.
Another Soviet Corps move next to Kherson and does another point of damage to the Panzer Grenadier.
A Soviet Army exchanges a point of damage with a Panzer Corps south east of Tula.
Another Army swaps hexes and also exchanges a point of damage with the same Panzers.
Soviet T34c (level 3 tanks) then engage the same Panzers and do 2 damage (now strength 4) to them and force them to retreat south.
Soviet Light Tanks and the Armored Train do 6 damage to a Finnish Corps.
The Russians perform deforestation via 3 Katyusha rocket barrages against another Finnish Corps but it still doesn't provide good combat predictions for the Russian Corps next to the unit.
The Russian Corps attacks anyway and only manages to hurt itself 1 point. They hex swap with a Russian Army which manages to do 1 damage to the Finns but takes 2 back themselves.

* At this point I'm glad I paid the extra motorization cost for these units.
** The sub is subsequently found and we may have run into a BUG REPORT as the sub is in a half hex at the top of the map and may not be accessible to my opponent.

Allied Turn April 30, 1943

Previous Axis Turn:
Frozen in the Arctic. Clear Everywhere else.

Axis Air power is still king.

UK Fighters in Kuwait fair poorly taking 7 damage intercepting strikes over Basra. Unknown amount of damage to Luftwaffe, but 2 waves of bombers take 2 hits each (from interceptors and ground fire).
A German Army then attacks the Corps defending Basra, which holds strong taking only 1 damage from all the combined attacks, but has had it's morale reduced 30% and entrenchment reduced to 1.

In Greece German air power whittles a Greek Corps to the point that it is easily destroyed by land attacks.
2 UK Fighters intercepted the raids with one doing well (took 2 damage and the other not so taking 6 damage), with unknown damage to the German Luftwaffe. I couldn't even count hits.

The Germans and the Russians exchange some fire in the Crimea. The Panzer Grenadiers pull back after taking damage in an attack, and a Romanian Corps moves in Kherson.
A German Corps and Russian Corps also exchange near equal damage.
2 Soviet Fighters near Moscow loose a combined 8 points of damage intercepting German bombers going after the Russian tank formation. Again an unknown amount of damage was done to the Luftwaffe, and I lost count of hits.
The Germans follow up with a land attack (or two) against the Russian Tanks and reduce them to 3 strength as they retreat.
There was also an attack(s) against the Army southeast of Tula. It is reduced to a 6 strength (from 9), while 1 adjacent German Corps is at 8 strength (pretty sure it took 2).
The wounded Panzers flee behind German lines.
At the northern end of the Moscow front a German Army and Corps attack a Russian Corps west of Rzhev. The Russians take 6 damage, but do damage back with the Army reduced to strength 9 and the Corps 7 (not 100% sure they were at 10s to start with).
The Finns fall back a hex, no longer wanting to deal with the Armored train with a Corps sitting in clear terrain.

The Italian Army in Port Said retreats behind the Canal.

The Germans appears to have been able to move the sub that was in a half hex.

Germany occupies Vichy (presumably through a DE)
The French BB Dunkerque is scuttled, but the CL Jean de Vienne escapes.

Allied Turn
Frozen in the Arctic. Mud in Finland. Rain in Russia. Clear in Western Europe and Ukraine. Rain in Greece. Clear in England. Clear in Iraq. Clear in Egypt.

Clearly Thor still hates me.

An American Army and the American Corps destroy the German Garrison (Egyptian Nationals, I presume) in Cairo.
A Canadian Corps moves into Cairo (wasn't sure if it would automatically go back to the UK if the USA moved in).
The American Corps then takes the southern part of the Canal, while the Army that attacked moves into Port Said.
The other American Army that didn't attack, moves into the northern part of the Canal.
The 3 British Cruisers (2 CA and 1 CC), lead by HMS Hood, then move through the open Canal and bombard the Italian Corps from the Red Sea side, before moving back into the Med. They reduce the Italian's readiness (4%) and morale by (9%).
HMS Ark Royal then strikes the Italian Army twice doing 2 points of damage and as well as further reducing the morale and readiness.
USS Ranger takes her turn and does a further 2 damage to the Italian Army.
8th Air Force (US Strategic bombers) Carpet bomb the Italians for another point of damage.
US Tactical bombers do another 3 damage.
The US Army then destroys the Italian Army but takes a point of damage in doing so.

The Greek Army in Tirana boards ships and transports to the other side of Greece debarking northeast of Thessaloniki.
An English Army debarks in Tirana.
The Greeks pull back a bit more in the bad weather.
Tripoli and Malta are blockaded with one ship each.

The Army in Tula attacks the German Corps south of it and does 3 damage while taking 1 back.
An 8 strength Army attacks the same Corps and exchanges 1 damage with them.
A Russian Cavalry unit performs a recon mission along the Don river northwest of Voroshilovgrad and spies a Panzer Grenadier in the town but also notes that Stalino is unoccupied.
A Russian Corps then rushes into Stalino, and reports that the Romanian HQ and Fighters are along the coast between Manupol and Taganrog.
A Russian Army moves to 2 hexes north of Voroshilograd for a bit of support for the probing field units.
Forward elements from Stalingrad cautiously advance towards the Don river and note a Romanian Army, German Army and an Anti Tank unit in defensive positions behind the river.
A Russian Corps exchanges 1 point of damage with a German Corps (both strength 8 and at supply level 4) outside of Kherson.
An elite (11 str) Russian Corps then moves next to the German Corps and does 1 damage to it.*

Allies Liberate Egypt.

Italians exact some revenge against the Americans scoring a Human Torpedo attack against the USS Ranger for 5 damage**

* How does a defender (2 exp pips) that looses a battle (0:1 combat) gain a pip of experience (to 3)? I know there's fractions/partials, but I thought losers didn't get experience.
** The whole game, I spend 1 turn with 1 ship in a vulnerable port and I get pinged for it. The worse news is, I probably didn't need to be in the port in the first damn place.

Allied Turn May 22, 1943

Previous Axis Turn:
Frozen in the Arctic. Rain in Russia. Clear Everywhere else.

In Greece, the Luftwaffe target the Greek Army outside Thessaloniki with 3 bomber strikes. UK Spitfires again go up against escorting German fighters and do a bit better this turn with some hits against the bombers as well as German fighters.
The UK fighters suffer 6 damage (4 & 2), with unknown amount of damage to the Luftwaffe planes. A Romanian Corps then attacks the Greek Army bringing it down to a 4 strength after all the attacks.
The other Greek Army, in the Albanian mountains, is attacked by an Italian Mechanized and 2 German Corps. All 3 attacking units suffer 2 losses without inflicting any.
A Bulgarian Garrison seized Kavalla, Greece.

The Germans take Basra and Kuwait, which had been evacuated.
The Russian Corps in Ahwaz suffers under 3 arial bombardments, but manages to shoot down a few planes. The Corps is then encircled and destroyed, but manages to get a hit or 2 in on the attacking units.

The Romanian HQ and fighters move out from their positions.
A German Panzer Grenadier and a Romanian Army fall back westward to attack the Russian Corps in Stalino. They do 4 damage to the Corps, but it holds the town. The Grenadiers take 2 damage and the Romanian Army 1.
Northwest of Rhzev a German Army attacks a Soviet Army, with both taking 1 damage.
Another Soviet Army, southeast of Rhzev, is attacked by German Special Forces from the Town and a Panzer Grenadier. Katyusha fire in defensive of the Russians who take 3 damage, while the Special Forces take 1.
The Finns apparently fall back a bit more, with only 1 Corps now currently visible.

Allied Turn
Frozen in the Arctic. Mud in Finland. Rain in Russia. Clear in Western Europe and Ukraine. Rain in Greece. Clear in England. Clear in Iraq. Clear in Egypt.

American Medium bombers stationed in Gabes, Tunisia soften up the Italian Garrison in Tripoli.
This is then followed by a US Army and a US Corps landings east and west of the city. Assaults destroy the Italian Garrison, but occupation will have to wait until next turn.
American forces push through the Sinai to Gaza.
US 8th Air Force (Strat bombers) bombards Rhodes for 4 damage. 2 UK Heavy Cruisers then blockade the port.

Commonwealth reinforcements arrive in north eastern Greece.
British Tactical bombers, escorted by Seafires from Ark Royal strike a 7 strength Bulgarian Corps. German Fighters intercept. Results: UK CV Air -2, UK TAC -1, GE FTR -2, BUL Corps -2.
A 2nd wave of Tactical bombers is sent this time escorted by Formidable's fighters. The same German Fighters intercept. Results: UK TAC -2, GE FTR -1, BUL Corps -2.
A 3rd wave is sent, escorts are regular Spitfires and interceptors are from a 2nd German Fighter group. Results: UK FTR -1, UK TAC -2, GE FTR -1, Bul Corps -2. Bul Corps is down to 1 strength.
The 1 strength Bulgarian Corps is attacked by 10 strength Greek Corps and is only forced to retreat. *Yeesh*
A Romanian Corps (at full strength but only INF Weapons 1) is attacked by a Greek Corps and takes 1 damage.
2 RN and 1 USN Battleships shore bombard an Italian infantry corps north of Tirana.
The UK Army in Tirana then attacks the Italian Corps and does 1 damage to it.

A Russian Light Cruiser scouts along the north coast of the Sea of Azov and spies German Tigers (heavy tanks) in Mariupol and a Romanian Fighter in Taganrog.
The cruiser stops to blockade the ports of Taganrog and Rostov.
A Russian Corps moves out of the Crimea to seize the mines and crossroads at Melitopol. All lines to Rostov are, temporarily, cut off.
A Russian Corps moves from Tikhoresk to Scout Rostov itself and reports that it is occupied by the Romanian HQ! The Corps advances on the city from the south.
Another Corps advances next to Rostov from the southeast and reports a German HQ northwest of Rostov.
The two Corps attack Rostov and do 6 damage to the Romanian HQ, while one of the Corps takes 1 damage back.
North of Rostov a Russian Corps finds a German AT unit behind the Don and attacks it. The AT takes 2 damage and the Russian Corps 3. The Russian Corps then pulls back.
Another Russian Corps moves forward and attacks the AT, both units take 2 damage, and the Russian Corps again pulls back.
In the northern part of the Moscow front, the Russians launch 2 rocket attacks at Rzhev to reduce morale and entrenchment.
Rzhev is then attacked by 4 Russian Armies and the German Special Forces take 4 damage, and do 1 damage back to one of the Russian Armies.
Further south in the line, a Russian Special Forces unit moves into the forest south of Kaluga, and sees the Italian HQ supporting the troops on the far southern flank.
The Special Forces unit attacks a German Corps, both take 2 damage.
A Siberian Shock Army moves next to the wounded Corps and attacks it doing 3 more damage, then retreats back to the forest.
Katyusha rockets are fired at the German Corps at the southeast corner of the Moscow front, reducing morale and entrenchment.
A 7 strength Russian Army then does 2 damage to the rocket shocked troops, then pulls back behind the lines.
Siberian JS II (Heavy Tanks) then roll forward and destroy the German Corps.
2 Soviet Mechanized units then attack an Italian Corps near Orel and force it to retreat at 3 strength. The Italians do 1 point of damage to each Russian Mechanized unit.
A third Soviet Mechanized unit rolls into the gap and then destroys the Italian Corps.
A Russian Corps moves up to the next Italian Corps and attacks, doing nothing more than remove it's entrenchment.
The 3rd Russian Mech then uses it's 2nd attack against that Italian Corps and does 3 damage while taking 1 back.
Russian Paratroopers are then sent into the empty space beyond the lead Mech, a hex that borders a Hungarian HQ, an Italian HQ and an Italian fighter. The Fighter intercepts and runs into escorts from near Voronezh.
The Italian fighters take 5 damage, while the Russians only 2. The Paratroopers are unharmed and land without casualties.
With so many juicy targets, the paratroopers attack the damaged Italian fighters and destroy them while taking 1 damage themselves.
Russian Tactical bombers are then sent after the Italian HQ. They are intercepted by German fighters near Smolensk. Russian escorts and German interceptors both take 3 damage, the Tactical bombers take 1 and the HQ takes 2.
In Finland A Russian Army and Light Tanks move forward.
The Light Tanks do 1 damage to a Finnish Corps. They hex swap with the Armored Train who does 2 more damage to the same Finnish Corps.
Russian Tactical bombers are sent against the same Corps and a bloody air battle with the Finnish Fighters ensues: RU FTR -3, RU TAC -2, FIN FTR -4, FIN CORPS -2.
The Russian Army then attacks and exchanges 1 damage with the Finnish Corps (now down to strength 4).

Vichy France Battleship Lorraine vacillates and joins the Allies.

The Russian Corps in Stalino suffers desertions.

Allied Turn June 13, 1943

Previous Axis Turn:
Frozen in the Arctic. Clear Everywhere else.

German Panzers show up on the Greek/Yugoslavia border and attack an 8 strength UK Corps across a river in a clear valley hex. After 2 attacks the Corps has taken 4 damage and retreats while the Panzers have taken only 1.
To the northwest a German elite (10 str, 2 pips exp) Corps attacks a Greek Corp in the Mountains taking 1 point of damage and not hurting the Greek unit.
The German air force is quiet this turn in the Balkans.

The Germans complete the conquest of Iraq, Kuwait and the English portion of Persia.
German forces advance into Soviet Persia and attack an improved Garrison stationed in Khorramabad with an Infantry Corps and a Tactical Bomber. The Garrison is reduced to 3 strength.

German Heavy Tanks take out the Russian Corps in Stalino with 2 attacks.
North of Stalino, Panzer Grenadiers do 4 damage to a Russian Cavalry Corps.
The damaged (4 strength) Romanian HQ flees Rostov and is replaced by a Romanian Army.
A Hungarian Army shows (rails?) up to support the defense of Kharkov.
Near Orel, the Russian offensive is blunted by heavy use of air power. The Soviet paratroopers are attacked by 5 waves of bombers German Fighters escort the first 2, and Russian Interceptors engage the first 3.
Russian Fighters took 7 damage over 3 squadrons, GE FTRs took 2 hits, IT Med Bmbr 2 hits, IT TAC 1 hit, GE TAC 2 hits all of unknown damage (there were 2 other German TAC which didn't take any hits iirc).
The Russian Paratroopers were eventually shattered.
The lead Soviet Mechanized unit in the spearhead is attacked by the German paratroopers and a German Corps. The Mech takes 4 damage and the Paratrooper 2
(not sure if the GE CORPS took any or even if it did attack, it's also possible one of the bombing runs hit the Mech instead of the Soviet Para).
South of Kaluga, the Soviet Special Forces unit takes 5 damage from an 11 strength Germany Army (with 2 pips of exp) and a Hungarian Army which took 2 damage back.
Southeast of Rzhev a Panzer Grenadier attacks a 9 strength Russian Army across a river. The Russians take 3 damage and the Germans 2 (not sure if the Grenadiers used 2 attacks or not, probably did).

Allied Turn
Frozen in the Arctic. Clear Everywhere else.

The 2 American Armies move next to Jerusalem and the Italian Army stationed there.
An American Corps moves into Beersheba.
Tripoli is occupied by an American Army.
An American Corps invades southeast of Rhodes and then walks into the town.

3 Battleships again shell the Italian Corps on the coast north of Tirana.
The UK Army in Tirana does a point of damage to the Italian Corps north of it.
A Greek Army attacks an 8 strength German Corps and does a point of damage to it, earning the Greek Army a pip of experience.

The Russians fall back in good order from their southern probing.
A Russian Corps south of Tula and the Army in Tula attack a German Corps. The Russian Corps takes a point of damage and the Army and German Corps exchange 2 points of damage.
A Soviet Mech swaps places with the Corps that attacked and exchanges 2 points of damage with the German Corps.
Then the Russian Heavy Tanks attack the same Corps and destroys it at a cost of 1 point of damage.
A Russian Army advances past the Heavy Tanks and into the gap next to a Hungarian HQ.
At the same time a Russian Mechanized unit southeast of Tula advances southward also next to the Hungarian HQ.
The Army attacks the Hungarian HQ doing 5 damage.
The Mechanized Corps then destroys the Hungarian HQ at the cost of 1 damage, it then pushes forward and does 6 damage to the Italian HQ.
Russian forces (Armored Train, Army & Light Tanks) do 6 damage to a Finnish Corps.
The Russians seize the Finnish town of Joensuu.
Back near Orel, the last Russian Mech does 5 damage to an 8 strength Italian Corps and forces it to retreat while taking 1 back.
A Soviet Corps pushes forward and does 1 more damage to the Italian Corps.
A Russian Shock Army then does 2 damage to a Hungarian Army southwest of Tula and north of the damaged Italian HQ.

American Naval Bombers scout over western France, and find no defenders in the ports of Lorient and Nantes, and Garrisons in the ports along the English Channel.

The Egyptian convoy line opens up.

The loss of Tripoli hurts Italian national morale.

Turkey swings towards the Allies upon the conquest of Rhodes (15 - 25%, unknown how much exactly).
