Glad to see another old player come back
Thank you, I am glad you enjoy them. The forum are a bit quiet now game is getting a bit old and people wait for the next big one I guess.

Sure I gladly play nice to play a game with the new patch see how it plays out. I have never cared much about winning and losing but now when I have revealed my whole playstyle I expect to lose and I will have something to blame . Also not sure excatly how quickly I play I will be in 7 games so might be a bit slow if that is ok.

January 1942

In my eagerness to try and help the Soviets I launch the invasion of North Africa but feeling quite uneasy about it.
I really feel you want to take out Tunis and Tunisia as quickly as you can because the Axis can reinforce so easy to Tunisia and also the air control from Sicily. But as you know I aborted that plan and now we are back landing in Algeria and in the south of Tunisia.

I did contemplate going for France instead but the pull to play kind of historical is strong sometimes .

MM: It's as I feared I really thought when I was playing 1 1/2 years ago the game was pretty balanced. Thanks for the point of view as it appears you've kept up with things. Your game looks pretty interesting and you guys look like you're drawing it out and creating a fight!

Usual games at that point would have 3-4 British Mechs/1 or 2 Tanks possibly. This was really strong in 1940 and you could strip the Home Island and basically really hammer anywhere the Axis didn't go Ham ... You could even go after the German Armor in France! I remember having to move in hit, remove, cause I knew that with Allied Air and Counterstrikes I'd lose 3-4 Armor/Mechs to the British-French. Also Italy required 15-25 Units all over it and even then it was a bit hairy cause you could take it or threaten it enough to tie up nearly all of Italy. Not sure what interesting strategies one can come up with for the Allies to remain competitive.

Seems like you are still the Master of this game, maybe you can make the Allies work if anyone can! I would be interested in seeing you do it, since most of us are going to be much less experienced than you it is possible I guess? I don't really think so though...It would be a fun challenge though! I am so rusty I don't remember half the clicks or rules! LOL

I think the game is better balanced then ever now but maybe Germany still a bit too stong but maybe not . It does depend on your playstyle a lot I would say as well so this thing with balance is really a Holy Grail thing really hard to reach thats for sure.

Dont worry I barely know the rules either, and yes I have more experience so you always have something to blame , if you want to play just let me know. It is always fun and I like to think that I am a fairly nice person to play with .

And thank you but I dont think I am the master. Harrybanana was better then me and there are several I have not played against like Sveint, Chinchin and Stjeand. I have just played a lot and made many AARs . But my steam account is at like 700 hours and I spent a lot of time on the game installed on the harddrive so many hours for sure .

In Africa the Americans land in Africa. So far looks like resistance is pretty light but alas dream on .

Missed one turn of screen shots and suddenly the whole of Tunisia is full with Germans . The chance of a quick victory in Africa is slipping through allied fingers. The only consolation is that those two panzer corps at least is not in Russia. Not much but something.

Decisions decisions. This decision was probably too reckless and not Montgomery like at all. But then Montgomery is not in charge in this alternative history. I decide to rush for Tripoli hoping I could get it while still defending against the Germans to the north.

March 13 1942

Advance towards Tripoli continues but this was a turn of naval activity. The allied fleets supporting the land war was attacked by land based Axis air. Malaya went down and CV Ranger and 1 uk CV took quite a lot of damage. In return UK CV finds the Italian fleet that sortied. In the end there was not that much left of the Italian surface fleet.

In Tunisia my allied line looks very weak and the Germans look very mean . I feel this might end badly. Supply very thight with my airforce already getting exhausted.

Tripoli falls but not without putting up a fight. Germans coming from Tobruk area and Italy are closing in.

Lost one turn but not that much happened.

Here are the forces and casualties on the eve of the start of the summer campaign.
Happy with Soviet strength but it has come with a cost, Manpower is at very low levels.

In Libya I chicken out and abandon Tripoli. Not sure if that was the right decision but if I had lost Tripoli I would have lost possibly 1 or 2 arm corps too expensive I was thinking.

In Tunisia I feel that I will never be able to kick the Axis out at least not easily thats for sure . So its looking that my African campaign as I feared has failed for now but we will see what happens. At least some Axis mech units are not in Russia and the Italian fleet is sverely weakened not much but something.

Main problem in Africa as usual is supply. In theory I should have air superiority here I have more airplanes but with the supply limitations with the ground forces they get into exhausted status very quickly.
