Well if you want work you can elevate the ship guns, can also put some aircraft in carrier deck.

Good idea on gun elevation. And yes, one or two planes on deck would simulate the CAP rotation.

There isn't a single link for all the available art work out there, but this should get you started:

Halsey's art site - land units, air units, mission art, etc.

Big B's Shipyard - ship art

Jace's site - interface art, mission art

Some of Chemkid's Maps - what maps are still available

MakeeLearn's Bellum Pacifica Map - another popular map

Edit:
I suppose I should plug my own contributions as well:

Allied Ship Insignia / Patch Additions - based on Halsey's work

Readability Mod of Jace's "Map Borders" User Interface Art - based on Jace's work

Thanks for this! Updating this great game!

Okay so it's been a while folks. I have the game fully reinstalled on a new rig and SERIOUSLY want to refresh the graphics. I KNOW the MODS work as I used to have a great set. It seems like there's a few changes to doing this. Can someone walk me through it? Or does the word file at the top with Michael's post literally have it all? Just need a reset. Thanks in advance!

I'm with you, 2Stepper. Getting back in after a few years out. michaelm's first message and attachment still fits the way things work. I wish someone would pin a message that simply has the links to all the art out there. I'll start with Korvar's message links above, but that's already at least 2 years old....
So much WitP and so little time to play.... :-(

Rotating Art Mod Tool

Post by Reg »

A bump for new players since it is buried so deep in the thread now:

This link to WITP-AE Revolving Bitmap Distribution Manager V1.6 contains a set of MS-DOS script files (with instructions) that you will find very useful if you wish to create your own rotating aircraft side and/or top art set and also contains installed rotating air and ship art viewers. The distribution also includes air, ship and ground unit patch editor and viewers.

Now that Google has disabled Halsey's site, the only place you can find his download files (in particular the beautiful plane tops and sides created by Cathartes that are "foldered" and thus change appearance over time) are in the internet "Wayback Machine". Kudos to Nikel for finding them and posting the link!

Kull, these are amazing! Do you have any plans for making more art? I really wish BigB used foldered system as you have.

Looks like the wayback machine missed the "AE Icon File Replacements" zip. Anyone know where it might be (or better yet, how to get it added to that archive)?

Not that I know of. It seems that many modders (and not just this game) create personal websites to hold their art and other offerings....and then neglect to maintain them. Sadly, it's quite common.

Too bad that Matrix does not ask to hold onto said content for their games.

Was this the file you are after??? :)

EDIT: Found a link to Halsey's original file. https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 5#p4509065

I also have the rest of Halsey's files but the "Wayback Machine" will look after them better than I.
(it looks like he did some updates after my snapshot anyway).
Cheers,
Reg.
