Top pilots missing?

I have lost several ACE pilots from my top pilot list. They are not logged as WIA or KIA. Where do they go? Do they go to new squadrons re. training?
My Top Matrix Games 1) CMO MP?? 2) WITP/AE 3) SOW 4) Combat Mission 5) Armor Brigade

Allied pilots get rotated after x number of missions, not sure what the number is.

I noticed that if pilots are on board of CV or AK, which is sunk with the squadron (they are not killed in combat), they simply disappear from top pilots list.

But in fact they are killed

If they have less than ten kills and are KIA/MIA they will dissappear from the list.

hmmm it is the Jap player in my PBEM. He did not lose any re. Shipping......
