Titans of Steel for free?

If I recall correctly, there used to be free version of Titans of Steel. Is this still officially available and where is newest version of it? What are major differences between it and Warring Suns?

Fairly huge differences, actually. Warring Suns was a complete re-do and overhaul of the original title.

Differences are grafics, AI, more weapons and titans, sound, campaigns, lots of fixes and minor tweaks.

The free version is a terrific game of course.  However, I don't know anyone that after playing Warring Suns has any desire to play the free version anymore.
