Welcome all
1st WPO's aar
japanese side
short scenario due to RL restrictions

there are little strategic decisions in this scenario
there is little surplus of land units so amphibious operations will be limited if not restricted
there is huge disparity between RN and my fleet - especially in heavy guns
daylight battles should be avoided
i have rather small ports and no repair shipyards so ships needs to be treated carefully
i have to lure enemy to fight around my bases
obvious advantages are :
light forces - much more DDs for both asw and screen - even for some torpedo attacks
same with CLs - especially new types
CA and old BBs are rather force to defend bases and for bombardments runs
subs are definite weapon of choice I really hope for success here
especially i doubt if RN has enough DDs to cover capitals and to create asw groups

there are only 2 months of play and Japan has -250 score balance
at first glane it forces offensive action
but...
i hope Przemcio will be unpatient enough to run above my subs

turn 1
orders for subs to reach patrol areas
orders for light forces to cover bases -
orders for main ships to concentrate at takao
pescadores and tayatay will be mined within 48 h
i think about fast strike against hong kong with main assets covering bombardment run

i hope to post results today

looks like technical problems caused last entry lost
today good day for przemcio
fuso found so no mystery about plan
second -4 MLs seen means a lot of mines -no entry
but przemcio may be frightened and send unnecessary ships off HK
fleet will move to blocking position
3 hexes west of hk outside of patrol planes range

balance is highly negative -4 DDs lost 1 will not make to the port

fleet is too far from ports to attack singapore RN battleline - especially QE class - withdrawing to South West - next day they will go to manila - formosa will be exposed for a few days

Przemcio is extremaly lucky player
another 2 BB were in crosshairs today and are unscratched
looks like i had good plan but its all went wrong
i hoped for 2-3 big capitals to be eliminated from major battle at this stage

my battleline move to manila
refit and we go for saigon bombardment
i need to strike where enemy is weak and i feel RN concentrated in HK where it will stay for a few days in fear from subs

unless RN surprises me bombardment of saigon will be conducted within 3-4 days
looks like dutch fleet is there what is partially reasonable as they are too slow and short legged to move with fleet
if i will be able to bombard port with whole fleet they will be at least moderately damaged
i will lay additional mines at bataan
and will try to sweep bataan of subs
i see MLs returning to HK
does it mean they reloaded mines ???
Singer is lvl 8 - i don't remember  rules at the moment but thought higher port is needed
TBs were reconed in Saigon harbour few days ago

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 03/11/24
good news out of 3 attack on enemy BBs 2 were successful
both have belt penetrated
warspite suffered critical damage
my indication is that Emperor of india has good chance for small dmg <20
but warspite may have 20-30 so it will be basicly out of action in this scenario
it is 2 hexes form HK and my subs will have a chance to strike again
i'm going to hunt ASW group west of HK - will use cruiser force from manila - they should be there in 2 days
points to points is the way to win
i doubt i will sink significantly more than RN but i hope to inflict enough damages to turn points to my favour

i'm concerned about fuel stockpiles in this scenario
i doubt if i will be able to keep tempo of operations in 2nd month

nice turn
i try to gather data where to strike
i know there is surface TF at camrah bay but i don't know how strong
saigon is almost empty
enemy fleet is on the move toward PI -2 DDs  were taken out of formations
my strategy of sub warfare seems to work
out of 200+ points diffrence there is only 100 left
only light forces were victims of this scenario
i'm not eager to fight with capitals - i don't have safe base to keep damaged ships  pescadores is too weak to defend from multiple BBs  there are only 240 cm howitzers
in witp i managed to sink North carolina undamaged BB in port when used multiple bombardment TFs so i fear such situation

there were 18 attacks on capitals
2 on CV - 2 hits
1 on CA - 0 hits
15 attacks on BBs/BCs 2 hits

meanwhile 6 DDs and 4 MLs were hit

either i'm unlucky or BBs has some force shield on them

if i stay correct i lost 3 subs / from memory /

enemy 2 R class beattleships are sunk as well as 2 modern cruisers and DD for a loss of 3 dds
ise is lightly and hyuga moderately damaged
tonight one more bombardment with all big guns and we go home
manila will be probably blocked by fresh forces but many of my ships carry too much water to go to formosa
we will see
