Graphic Glitch

Post by Caltone »

I just bought and downloaded the game. The download version was 1.05 so I downloaded and patched to 1.05e.

When I open the options screen, I get no headings for the tabs. This wasn't the case for me with the tutorial.

Also, I cannot get music to play other than when the game starts. Not really a problem for me as I run the game's mp3's and some others I have through another player.

A little more play has turned up more issues. I was playing the grand campaign from April. When I attacked Fort Sumter, I noticed the battle results window seemed to be missing some text (name of battle, etc). To make sure this wasn't due to the size of the battle, I went back to the tutorial and replayed the battle there and that result screen is also missing some text.

I'm going to reinstall to see if it resolves.

It might be caused by the DPI setting on your computer. See here: http://www.ageod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3135

If that fails, I'd try (a) restarting your computer and, if that doesn't work, (b) reinstalling AACW.

Thanks for the link.  My dpi settings were fine but reading through the thread you referenced, I installed the game fonts in windows, rebooted, and all appears to be well. [8D]

I was going to say that. For a reason unknown to us, a few players don't have a particular font correctly registered by windows, so they must put it in the font directory, directly. Thanks for the support Queeg [:D]

As for the music, this is working as designed, we won't want to have the music play continuously, to not bother the player. The external solution as you say is playing them with a mp3 players.
