Destruction of Cities

Post by jrm16311 »

Can cities be completely destroyed beyond repair, completely erase them off the map?

Some of you are probably asking why would I want to destroy a city instead of using it for resources. One scenario, I can think of, would be the destruction of an enemy city before they can retake it. Another could by psychological...piss the other guys off! [:D]

What happens, when a city is knocked to 0 production points due to artillery attacks or air attacks? Nothin'?
Don't be scared - I'm almost sure that I just want to play!

It doesn't produce anything, it self repairs slowly, and you can use engineers to repair it faster.

So what I'm getting is that there's curretly no way to completely destroy a city down to rubles in-game to.  Bringing down production down to zero is the best that can be done...and this is only a temporary stage.

That is correct with the current settings.  However, the auto-repair is quite slow.  You can change the auto-repair, the ability to destroy, and the ability to build with the editor.

So the auto-repair is slow, sure that's great, but I want to leave my buddy's cities in ruins. You know, for the demoralizing, trash-talking affect. [:D]

Games are won by the number of cities you own in at least random games. If a city is destroyed how does one "own" it?
Favoritism is alive and well here.

Games are actually won by controlling victory points that happen to exist with the city locations.  Destroying the city does not remove the victory point.  You would need an additional event to do that.
