In Deep Battle, to start an offensive, do you disband the offensive unit you get, or do you let it be?

In the meantime I flipped thru the events to see if disbanding that particular unit had any effect, and it doesn't. It looks as if you start an offensive by choosing a Theatre Option. Is that the correct observation?

Yeah, it just never said anything about a unit popping up for an offensive, excepting seaborne.
