Lost Serial Number and Download file?

Post by Embark »

This is obviously a long shot but I figured it was worth try. I bought WITP back in 2004. I remember retrieving the download information a couple of years ago. Believe it or not, I stored all my files on an external hard drive for safe keeping. Somehow or another, the hard drive failed completely and now I have none of the original files. I registered the game with Matrix but when I ask for my serial numbers to be sent to my email, I get nothing. I checked to make sure that the email address that I registered with, is the one I am using.

Here is a screenshot

Additionally, I no longer carry the credit card with which I originally bought the game with. I tore through all of my old bills but I canceled the card before my move to Japan and no longer have any references to the number.

Now I understand the need for caution and the prevalence of pirates on the internet. I also know that my predicament is one of my own doing. However, I figured it would be at least worth a shot to see if there was any way to retrieve my records or something showing that I purchased the game. I hear that with the newer patches, the game is much more playable than in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to see about being able to retrieve my serial and redownload the game?

If there is nothing that can be done, I will completely understand. My stupidity put me here but if there is some small chance that Matrix keeps a records and has a way that I can prove I bought the game, it is worth at least asking.

I bought the game digital download without the cd shipped.

Thanks for reading

IF you installed the game to your computer, you can probably retrieve the serial number using the serial number retrieval software posted in the "stickied" area of the support forum.

The horse is out of the barn, but for future consideration...

Regardless of where the game is on hard drives, I have the latest downloads needed for a re-load copied to a CD with the serial number written on the disk with a Sharpie, and in a text file on the CD.

Yay!
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?
