Empires in Arms is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. Empires in Arms is a seven player game of grand strategy set during the Napoleonic period of 1805-1815. The unit scale is corps level with full diplomatic options

I wish some further information were provided. Currently, we know close to nothing about the game philosophy.

What is the inspiration? Can one point to any particular boardgame? (i.e. how close will it be to Empires in Arms?) Have the designers experience in such board simulations?

I hope that the inherent advantages of the computer will combined with the boardgame heritage. Simultaneous movement and combat is certainly a good solution.

I hope this will not ONLY be a wargame. I want politics, economic affairs play much the same role. Reshaping Europe through installing puppet regimes for one thing should be the path to follow rather than always opting for full-blown annexation. And the model should not be as rigid as say EU's diplomacy. Internal affairs should be included. After all Prussia and other powers underwent critical reforms that enabled them to fight a winnign war.
