Newbie looking Pbem game

Post by psychoanalyzed »

Trying to start on it and would be wonderful to get to play with human beings. Is it a good idea to start with a RM?

Although I have played a lot of pbems I guess I am still not experianced enough for a RM. I would suggest to start with a scenario. Maybe a smaller one at the beginning. But not all smaller scenarios are well balanced. I guess it is impossible for the Allies to win at Ardennen and North Africa. But there are still a lot of scenarios I havnt played yet. So a lot of interesting ones to try [:)]

For your very first PBEM, I'd suggest you play a small random game vs an experienced player with FOG OF WAR OFF, then try to learn quickly from them while they annihilate your armies. Then play a real game afterwards :)

The choice of scenario or random map is not really that important, do what you enjoy most. You do need to grasp the basics of fast expansion, logistics networks and creating decent armies from scratch to do random games successfully though.

If you can put aside 2-3 hours for a quick session with quick turns (like spending a few minutes per turn then mailing it over again) I can do a quick test game if you want. I suggest you read my guide first though (link in sig), to save time and effort in the trial and error process [:)]

Hi,
I bought this game last Christmas. I've played several random map games against 2 friends. One of them quit 3 months ago and the other one is slow to send turns back to me.

I would like to play some new people. I'll play any map you choose. I have 3 day weekends all summer and check my email frequently. Email me if interested.
Thanks.
