1.0.4.9 Games crashes, bug apparently linked to World Annihilator

I have started a new game with the latest patch, in a standard elliptical galaxy (700 stars), in sandbox mode. I have played without any problem durin about two hours, but then, the game began to crash repeatedly. There is no error message indicating the nature of the error, just a window saying that a problem occured with DW and the game will be closed, with a "Close" button on it.

It seems that this bug has started when I discovered the World Annihilator and began to repair it, but I cannot be sure.

If you need it, I can upload a savegame.

I started another game to make more tests. In this new game I don't know if the World Annihilator is present, but I have just encountered the same bug as described above. It occured shortly after the first galactic history message, so it seems that the bug is linked to the galactic history plot rather than the World Annihilator.

I get the same thing.  Looks like the patch broke something.

I have to add a point. This game crash occured on a computer running with Windows XP Home SP3. I have played about two or three hours on another PC running with Vista and the game didn't crash.
