editor problems

have a problem - i want to edit the name/titles of the SS Divisions.
loaded the 41-45 campaign into the editor , renamed it and saved under new name , came out of editor and checked new scenario was in the list - it was.
restarted the editor and loaded my new scenario , edited the SS Divisions names and saved scenario .
when i try to reload the scenario it freezes up the editor . when i reboot i can still load all the original scenarios into the editor but not the one i modded. Manually deleted scenario from directory.
question is --- am i in the right place to change unit names? , is there a character limit to unit titles?

Any chance of some tutorials or more detailed explanatios of the editor functions

You can freely edit unit names but there probably is a character limit that is causing the problem. Can you give me an example of what you are trying to rename the unit to?

couple of examples-

17th SS Panzergrenadier Division edited to 17th SS Gotz v.Berlichingen Panzergrenadier Division
and
7th SS Mountain Division edited to 7th SS Prinz Eugen Mountain Division

the first examle is the 'worst' or longest edit i tried to do.

The limit for the unit name is 40 characters, but I would try to avoid doing a too long names, as we currently do the in-code truncation, which may not work on your custome names, thus they will overlap in various places.

In any case custom names shouldn't cause hang or freeze... especially the whole PC.

Sorry , it froze the editor not the whole pc , i just re booted the pc just to be sure , but i went through the process of renaming/editing twice with the same result.
