support

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

support

in the manual it says you can order units to support another province where they will march to nominated province in the event of a battle. when i try to give this support order the AI simply takes it as an ordinary move order. am i doing something wrong(most likely) or is the support order bugged?

IIRC (been a while sense reading the instructions) to choose the crossed sabers (rather than the vertical sabers) in the unit info box will enable movement to adjacent provinces-if possible. The crossed sabers is the order to seek combat. The unit must have some movement ability remaining for it to conduct a march to combat.
Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.

all of my units always have crossed sabres(except the small transport ones) yet the support order doesnt work. i select the unit, mouse over where i want the support and press <s> and the unit simply moves there. i do get a message saying the support order has been given BUT i only want the unit to move there in the event of a battle. that doesnt happen. im confused[&:]
