Mobius,
How the heck did you get your troops into the town so quickly? I tried the methodical approach, using advance mostly, and got caught up by vicious artillery. By the time I ended up getting close, I didn't have enough left to contest the center flag.

Also, I slowed the armor advance as soon as I took fire from AT guns, targetting everyone on the suspected site of the gun. If I had rushed on, I might have gotten armor closer to the city center. I was trying to let the infantry advance and flush out enemy positions and then have the armor take care of them, but it slowed things down so much that I never got much into the town. I did okay on the right flank, taking the flag with the bridge there, but didn't get much further.

I really enjoyed your video. It was very nicely done.

Heinrich I played this as Soviets vs Rick and had about the same result that you did except I didn't take the right. Rick's arty pounded me everywhere.

I avoided going down the main roads. I sent most of the tanks skirting the woods near the south stream so shielded them from the Pak 38. That way I got into the outskirts of town with the T-34s intact. I sent a handful of tanks to the north to take out the Pak 35 there. Those mostly just stayed around that flag.

J2D and Mobius,
Thanks for the replies. I found the AI artillery to be absolutely brutal. J2D, I can just imagine how the AI would have been played by a human.

My armor coming up to the left of the main highway got blasted pretty badly. I lost quite a few of my BT's on the flank right to some nasty gunnery by the PAK, but had pretty good luck pushing through the main forest to the right of the main roads....until I hit all the strong points.

I put together an AAR of the event, and am trying to figure out how to properly post it. It is not a video (which are great Mobius, thanks [&o]) but it is a story of the battle. Y'all should like it. I've just got to rearrange the narrative and screen shots a bit before I post it.
