This one? [:D]
Did it a few years back. Send me an email and I'll give you a copy. Works great with JGME.

RE: Unit bases - SS Roundel
Okay, found a .jpg online of helmet decals so decided to experiment and got a bit more colorful. Apologies in advance if I offend any political sensibilities.
So anyone want to move the 12th SS in Normandy?
Tiger 88 I'll send you copies of both mods.
Working on something for Russian Guards too.

Okay, a preview of the Guards too. Still needs a bit more work.

Nice, and the 2D project, the little pictures for Guards have a red banner aboce the icon now!! And SS have the runes below their picture! Also, the NATO/Military Symbols in 2D have a red shade for all guards units, except armor, and SS are gray, with the runes under the symbol!

Mike,
Saw the 2D. Very nice!! We both will need glasses very soon. [:D]
Didn't want to forget the Afrika Korp so here's another I'm working with.

[X(]Sweet Jeebus those are pretty!
Question - if I recall, there was an issue breaking SS units/bases separately in a large scenario of other German units, yes? Something about SS/any other unit would essentially have to be coded as is it were another country/OOB? ie - in a large Normandy scenario for example, would these bases still work with all of the non-SS German units on the board?

RE: Unit bases - SS Roundel
Yes, SS would need to be another country, if indeed wanting them to be separate, same as Guards, USMC, and other elite fighting forces. Would be nice to do this sometime, however, legacy scenario's wouldn't show them without the scenario/oob files being converted. A LOT of work, I've done it!!

Mike I believe what Berto is saying is don't even think of asking him to redo all the oob's etc. [:D]
I would like to see the Waffen SS as a separate country code, been on my wish list for quite a while. And as long as were doing them Soviet Guards would be nice too.... then Gross Deutschland Division, Afrika Korp, Yankee 3rd Armored, Big Red One.... Ahhhhh!!! where does it end??? How many country codes are there? I finalized bases for Guards and regular Wehrmacht tonight pic below. Thought Guards looked a bit plain so I superimposed the Guard insignia over the existing red star. I think it looks good. If anyone wants these drop me an email. I'm still tinkering with the Afrika Korp and may do Yankee 3rd Armor, and 1st Infantry. Too bad they have to be so scenario specific.

No, what I am saying is: There is untapped potential in the existing OOB files and program source code.ORIGINAL: XLVIII Pz. Korp

Also: We don't need to "redo all the oob's" manually. We, rather I, can write programs to automate the redoing. It's really not all that difficult.
This is all (re)doable, reasonably, and all without "separate country code". Thinking outside the box, with the right insight, tools & techniques, all things are possible. Well, many things.
So, different unit bases for different branches of the armed services of every nation, without proliferating new separate country codes? And without too much work? Yes, it's quite possible. "All" that remains is to work out the details!

Thanks! Glad you like 'em. Started playing this back when it was a new Talonsoft release and it's kind of a labor of love. Think it's that for a lot of folks around here. [;)]
As it stands now, yes you are correct. I'm playing a scenario now with a mix of Wehrmacht and SS and if I enable the mod all German forces appear as SS. Unfortunate but in light of berto's post maybe not permanent.
The Afrika mod does work well for Afrika Korp scenarios and of course Italian forces keep their Italian bases too. I'd like to do and probably will a Gross Deutschland mod for XLVIII Pz. Korp scenarios but again as it currently stands all German forces would have a Gross Deutschland base.

Well, we've got this little matter of pushing the 2.01 update out the door first. (Soon.)ORIGINAL: XLVIII Pz. Korp

Then there's this other minor matter of releasing Middle East. [8|]
Other than that, this all would be a nice addition to 2.10. Not for a while yet.
BTW, we've already more or less "worked out the details". This will be cooler than you think!
