Question about paradrops

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

Question about paradrops

Post by SMK-at-work »

I've not managed to figure out how paradrops purchased after the game start work - I spent the required supply & fuel, I understand that 1 paradrop point allows 1 unit regardless of size, I have air superiority, and I have para units at towns and/or major cities/ports.

but the only paradrops that I seem to get available are for units at their original/deployment hex - whether at the game start or arriving as reinforcements.

is there something I'm missing??

TIA

From Page 19 of the Manual:
"In the Sicily scenario, the Allied airbase is Malta. In the Italian scenarios, the Allied airbase is Messina and then Foggia once captured. Until Foggia is captured, the Allied air force is limited to southern Italy."

I'm assuming based on this you must use Foggia for drops once you've advanced a bit north. I hope this helps you.
