cog detaile dbattles question

hi all



i am just wanting to play some crown of glory 2 emperor edition and one thing i cant figure out . when i go to the detailed battle option, the computer just plays out the battle - ie an ai is fighting for me - i cant stop or do anything i just have to watch it - this doesnt seem right, i have played the detailed battles myself in the past - can anyone advise me on how i make it so that i am playing the detailed land and sea battles instead of the ai?
