RS Spearhead Campaign Bug

When playing the Linked Campaign "Spearhead" in Rising Sun I noticed that the game would freeze when I selected certain hexes. As I played through it I realized that the hexes contained cave tiles along with undiscovered units yet are in normal LOS. I've managed to get far in the campaign with a few freeze ups but none impassable. Now I've gotten to the point where it's the Japanese turn and when the AI moves units out of undiscovered cave hexes, the hex will highlight as I see them(even though I don't) and then the game freezes. Has anyone else noticed this? This is the only campaign were this happens, but it basically renders it unplayable. Any fixes? Thanks

In which LCG scenario (which .scl file) would that be?

The current scenario where I'm stuck is "Koshiki_RettoLCG_9.scl" but the issue has existed throughout the entire campaign. It's just now that I'm at the point I can't get around it.

Sorry, but I don't have a quick and ready answer or solution for you.

What might help is if you follow the guidelines suggested in the 2.0* Update Tech Support FAQ, Post #2, section "Game (or Editor) Crashes".

Sometimes we get lucky where the error.log & engine.log pinpoint the fault.

Looking back this may have been a problem in the original Rising Sun. It's been a while but I believe the same problem occurred on the first scenario of the campaign back when I had the Rising Sun:Gold on CD-ROM. Though at the time I just thought it was due to a scratched disc, now I'm thinking it was the same issue.

Supposedly the cave crash bug was fixed before I inherited the CS coding project. It seems not. [:(]

Unfortunately, with no caves in the forthcoming game, Middle East, which I have to prioritize right now -- I won't be debugging this caves issue any time soon. Not before 2016's CS mega patch, when we will be releasing CS 2.10 (or perhaps 3.00?).

As long as someone is aware of it. I haven't seen it brought up in the forums, so I thought I should mention it.
