Panzerfäuste

Close Combat: Gateway to Caen is the latest release in the critically-acclaimed Close Combat series and focuses on the largest, concentrated British offensive since the Normandy landings in an attempt to penetrate the German lines west of Caen and cross the Odon River to get the stalled advance moving again.

Panzerfäuste

Post by WHATEVERDUDELEMMEINALREADY »

In the old CC games, the Panzerjäger units would have more than like just three or four shots on them -- and they actually took aim!

Here it's like winning the lotto, even when up close...okay I know a lot of factors go into game calculations, especially human ones...but only under perfect conditions have I been able to kill armor with these units.

Also, in the old CC games, many non-Panzerjäger units had Panzerfäuste and Panzerschreck weapons...here no one seems to???

Remember supply will affect the number of rounds. Before the battle begins, you can few the "level" of ammo available from the battle screen. Green, full ammo; Yellow; three quarters ammo; Orange; half ammo, and Red; running on empty. When your BG these quantities affect your forces rate of fire. For example, if the BG is in the red, your forces will try and conserve ammo unless the order to fire is given by the player.

There are two different weapons / teams here:

Panzerfaust - single shot AT rocket. The panzerjaeger teams typically carry these in GtC. The panzerfaust availabe in Normady were (as I recall) some of the earlier models that had a range of only 30m or so.

Panzerschreck - the bazooka-like rocket launcher with up to 5 rounds carried by the two man team. These are named "Panzerschreck" in GtC I believe. The panzerschreck is much more accurate, with an effective range of 100m or so.
