Allied Units

Post by lion_of_judah »

How does one go about making allied units for either regime. The allied nations will use their own flag and national symbol for their units though.

You can assign the unit colors and the nato symbols / flags for HQs in the historical unit editor.

Keep in mind if a HQ has not been assigned a graphic in the historical unit editor that HQ will use the regime flag. If it is assigned something it will use whats assigned.

so the allied units will receive supply even though they do not have a regime per say,so I do not have to create a third regime via the advanced editor then make it an ally of one of the regimes. How will this allied units and corps receive replacements?

Lion,

Working with the 2 player design logic of the current Community Project you'll the replacements will arrive at the main high hq (which would be above the allied high hq) and disperse from there.
You can distinguish between countries by using different peoples to keep the replacements seperate.

It works, with one problem really two. The replacements for Rwanda and AFDL are getting to their units, but when I click on the main HQ which belongs to AFDL GHQ, there are no differences in infantry they are just all lumped together, so I can't see the Rwandan and Congolese infantry separate. Second issue, but not really a big deal in terms of game play is when I click on the scenario and load it, no problem, it is when I close that scenario and open another one then go back to the scenario in question and the game crashes. This is because I have chosen the Rwandan flag for the allied HQ.

With any crash could you please go to the 'details' button and copy and paste the full debug info so i can see in which function the crash occured?

Thanks for reporting. We'll get to the bottom of it, even if it takes some time.

Could you maybe already mail me the scenario so i can repeat your steps?

Best wishes,
Vic

Hi Lion,

Your Congo scenario looks nice.

1. I could not repeat the issues with loading a different scenario and reloading the congo scenario and the graphics or a bug. Please provide better instructions on how to repeat this and where to look to see whats the bug.

2. The troops bunched together is working as intended. You see the little white block on the UNIT TROOPS tab? It means some abstractions have been made, click on it to see a listbox version with all troops present.

3. I found an AI bug and will update the CP. Thanks for reporting it.

Thanks for the compliment on the scenario as that means a lot. I would like to use the new libraries that came in the last patch before c, but I just don't get it. Is there a Video walking one through this or step by step documentation on this. I did read through what there is on the wiki site but it is all confusing. Thanks
