Pre-Plotted Artillery

Post by vettim89 »

So while fiddling with the editor, I noticed the designer has the option of designating a hex as "Pre-Plotted Artillery" for either side.

What effect does this have on game play? Does the player have to initiate the action or is it handled automatically?

They are target areas of interest. You still have to call in the strike, but the delay is a couple minutes. We will be adding prep fires into Southern Storm for those opening barrages or planned rolling barrages. These would be setup by the scenario designer and outside the on and off map artillery assets. We also plan to have the ability to tie artillery units to those AOA markers as a priority mission. Those will auto barrage if the conditions are met.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Wow. Thanks for the info. Looks like you guys are working on some cool stuff. That new feature would allow a designer to model a pre-assault allocation of Front and Army assets without the player being able to use them as hex killers.
