Victory Conditions

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Victory Conditions

Post by Rayfer »

Learning the game. Playing the first scenario as the French. Mission is to "Clear the woods to your front of the enemy". Though I appear to do so I always end up with a defeat. What am I missing? Thanks, Ray

What you are missing Rayfer is the Objective. There is a gold medallion/wreath type object in the sky. Directly below it on the ground is a corresponding starburst symbol. Each objective requires a certain amount of manpower in a certain radius around it. The longer the requirements are met, the more victory points you accumulate.

When you have met the conditions for occupation, the gold medallion in the sky turns to your nations flag: French or Anglo-Prussian.

That's the simple explanation. See the game manual under the Docs folder, pages 89-91. Have fun!!
