Modified scenario choice vs Allied AI

Post by harrer »

Hi all,

Wanna try for the first time in a full campaign the game as Japan vs allied AI but i'm wondering which (modified) scenario to take.

I'd like to try against a good Allied AI, but not something invincible [:D]

I'm using the Patch 07 - Unofficial Public Beta - 1126b updated 17 Sept 2016 and stock map version.

What would you recommand me?
(or is there any better AI if i use an extended map or the last official patch or ... ?)

Thanks in advance [:)]

I would start with scenario 1. It's a historical scenario. It's easier than the mods for a new Japanese player....GP

Hi GP,

Thanks for your answer.
I see here http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3076885 that you recommand the patch 07.
Miv 79 asked also for " Japanese original scenario with improved AI Allies. "
So with just the patch 07 the AI is already a lot better?

Unfortunately not a lot has been done with the Allied scripts. I always play Japan so I can easily recommend not worrying about the Allied AI as you will have your hands full just figuring out the Japanese economy [:)]

As changes made in the early stages by Japan can take over a year to show that the changes that were made totaled your economy. Then the Allied AI will be able to do whatever it wants as you will not be able to do much anyway lol.

But there are a lot of good resources to help you in the War room (including my Japanese Production Primer) along with some good AARs to read over.

Basically if I can become a pretty good Japanese (if I do say so myself) then any one else should have no problem either [:)]

Good luck and welcome to the 'dark side' [:)]

Just be aware that Patch 07 does NOT include any of the AI updates - it still uses the AI files from 2010. Go here to see what's needed to update your AI files.
