Getting maps FROM a computer generated battle...

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Getting maps FROM a computer generated battle...

Post by banditjim »

Is there any way to get the random map created from a computer generated battle? I am playing two PBEM games that have great maps from the generator and would love to save them.

Not sure about this procedure, but it worth a try:
rename the three save files into “scenxxx” (where xxx stands for an open slot in scenario list), maintaining the same files’ extensions, naturally.
Then place them in the scenario folder, open the editor and load this scenario.
Check if everything’s ok with the map. At this point you’ll probably have the units already deployed on map, so you’ll have so remove them all, then you can save the map. It should do the trick.
Naturally any destroyed vehicle, smoke, craters, etc. will be retained on the map.
In order to have a “clean” map, this procedure should be applied immediately, before the purchasing phase.

Hope it helps.
