Game not starting

Post by RadeonGeForce »

Hi guys! I had a customer bring his high end Toshiba laptop in to me yesterday for some other stuff, but he mentioned that he couldn't get Ostfront to run so I've taken a look at it. I was able to update the game but then quickly saw his problem. "PCOstfront.exe" will start and show in the task manager, then after about 3 seconds disappear again. I've tried opening that directly, through the launcher, with compatibility settings, and nothing has worked. I did a repair of Dot Net Framework, set the game to only use the dedicated GeForce GTX670M video, and nothing has changed. I disabled Norton which I only just installed as well, but the problem was happening before it was even a factor.

I've uploaded the dxdiag log so you can see the rest of the specs. Unfortunately he has to pick up the machine later today whether I've fixed it or not, so this may be a bit of a drawn out process. Thanks!

I won't get a chance to try that as I have a business emergency. This is a 7 system though, how much of that applies?

And I promise it has GeForce graphics. It may not be working correctly currently, and I can't check on that until he brings it back, but it's there.

Hi,

I'm just coming back to PCO after being away from it for a couple of years. It ran fine on my Win 8 machine, but I can't get it to run on Win 10. I followed zakblood's instructions and I can get to the point where I click Play. The screen flickers very briefly and then I'm returned to the main menu. Does anyone know of any other things that I could try? Thanks.
