Losses screen

Post by tomeck48 »

I'm trying to figure out how to read the losses screen. Playing the Axis, just starting turn 5 of 41 campaign. Haven't moved or attacked yet. In the Permanent Losses - Current Turn column it says the Soviets have lost 23,645 men. Are those Soviet combat/attrition losses from the Soviet turn 4 or are they Soviet attrition losses from turn 5?

Interesting question, did not pay that close attention to the losses screen. As long as the overall numbers are fine ... [;)]

I was just looking for equipment, that I have captured, like precios T34s. But I did not find anything. If I am not mistaken, there is a possibility later in the game, that the Germans actually bring these tanks back to battle. Is this something the player can influence? If so, are there advises for best use?

Thank you all.

Attrition losses. Combat losses for the current turn will be added to this number based on your battle results for the turn. Attrition involves a lot of different causes. Proximity to enemy causes incidental combat contacts, sick, injured in the line of non-combat duty, desertions, prisoners grabbed by enemy scouts, deserters, MIAs, etc.

Captured equipment takes about a year before it starts to appear in your production pool for issue to units. Don't believe there is any way to expedite. Captured equipment are turned in to higher hq for inventory, repair, reconditioning, etc at factory depots and reissued through supply channels. Not to be confused with small arms, ammo, grenade trophies/souvenirs soldiers grab on the battlefield for personal use.

I have armoured cars on turn 16 turning up in my SS panzer Division, maybe other things as well, I will look closer when turn 17 comes back to me.

Just to be sure I understand, you're saying the attrition losses occurred in the German portion of turn 5, not the Soviet portion of turn 4? I'm probably the only one here who cares, but it's just something I would like to know. [&:]

Even better. Somebody wants to care of the SS without delay. They should be showing up in your production pool before they get to the gaining unit.

It's an abstraction. I'm not good at explaining abstractions and math models. Now that you mention it, you should be seeing your own confirmed attrition losses that occurred after the end of turn four and before the start of turn five. Pretty sure you start out with higher current turn totals than the enemy. I'm sure somebody out there can give you a better explanation of how they make sequential IGOUGO results reflect what is happening for both players at "the same time"

Your own atrional, logistic losses etc will occur in the logistics phase which happens once your enemy clicks their "end turn" button before you start your own turn
Vice versa enemy attrional, logistics losses will happen when you click your "end turn" button but before they start their turn [:)]

You can look at captured by going into the production screen, then when you can click on your nation, scroll down and look at all your captured goodies!

First time this game I checked the captured equipment (Turn 17), yes they are there and 26 units have captured armoured cars and Gaz AAs.
