"Exclusive" weapons

Post by StuccoFresco »

Hi all, it's me again bothering you all with modding questions. [:'(]

Is it possible to make a weapon never fire at armored targets?

FOr example, if i mod an AT gun and I put 0 in SA Value cell, will this make the gun NEVER shoot at non-armored targets?

Also: does weapons with 0 AP/HEAT value fire at armored targets?

Thanks in advance.

Working off the top of my head here, but a 0 SA should not fire at soft targets and 0 AP/HEAT should not fire at armored targets based on ground target weapon types.

Uhm, a subunit with Type: Anti-Tank, Role: AT and SA: 0 keeps firing at enemy infantry... Why is that?

A couple possibilities:
1). There is a vehicle in the target unit.
2). There is another SA capable weapon in the shooter group.
3). I was wrong and need to review the code. Can you email me your test scenario so I can give it a look this evening?

Thanks.

Here: i've uploaded the scenario and the two custom nations' folders that goes in the Data folder.

I'm working on an ucronic 1940s gameplay with increased unit scale. I considered the hex scale to be 1000m instead of 500m, but of course i've left the original scale in the game files, making adjustments and handwaving "real" weapon ranges in favor of gameplay.

All in all i'm pretty satisfied with the testing i've done, despite needing much more testing, but the AT weapons targeting infantry subunits irks me a bit. At this point i fear non-AP units will fire at amored targets...

Got the files and looking at the scenario. I need to see if there is an error with the way the engagements are being reported or as it looks some code to allow for corner cases of SA fire versus low armored targets and AP being used against soft.
