5th British Inf Division

Post by George Patton »

I'm playing scenario 1, allied side. End of June 1942 is approaching. I received a month ago, a great reinforcement, the 5. British Infantry Division, in Mombasa.
The problem is that this unit ha an HQ restricetd India Command [R]. I cannot chenage the HQ or disband the division and use the infantry squads.
I moved the unit from Mombasa to Cape Town (the only place available to move to) but nothing changed. I cannot load the unit onto ships.
I wonder if there is a way to use this unit or not.

Sounds like an emergency reinforcement. You will have to save PP's to buy out the unit. Post a screenshot of the unit....GP

The unit withdrawal is in 193 days. And no you can't buy it out. So no you can't use the unit. Sucks. Since it's a emergency reinforcement this maybe a editor problem....GP

That unit is stuck. It's probably a holdover from the old WITP when there was no off-map bases; so that unit used to appear in Karachi more than likely. There's nothing you can do with it.

I get temporarily restricted units at Aden all the time and have no problem loading them on a ship to move on-map. I can't recall ever paying PP before moving them.
Send one ship to Mombasa to see if you can load a fragment before giving up.

CORRECTION! I tried to load 25th RAF Gp BF at Aden on an Amphib TF. It is temporarily restricted to Ceylon Command/India Command[R]. The unit did not show up on the load list and will have to be bought out.
Either I forgot about buying units out at Aden previously or changes were made in the updates that closed that loophole. Probably the former!

Put it on Rest/Training with no upgrading. On Withdrawing it would leave as a unit, and will not dump all the squads/items into your pools. So pretty useless except garrison and supply consumption. [8|]
