[Fixed] DF-26 Launching "Stored" (not just onboard) Ammo in One Salvo

Post by Boagrius »

Hi there,

I am new to CMO and have been building a custom scenario of my own. I'd like to set it up so that a group of DF-26 launchers fire repeated salvos of IRBMs at enemy positions, pausing to reload in between each one. The issue I have encountered is that when I group the DF-26's with an ammo source (bunker, truck, whatever) that contains additional DF-26 missiles, the TELs miraculously fire all of their own missiles along with all of the stored missiles (from the ammo provider) in a single massive salvo. Given that the DF-26 TEL is a single missile system, it seems like something fishy is going on here. Can someone advise me on how I can get my DF-26's to behave more realistically?

Many thanks,

Boagrius

I use this to create some really mean hard-to-beat enemies[:D]

If it got fixed, I may cry like foxes.[:D]

The root of this issue, as far as I observed, is two fold:

1. Many weapon entries, like df-26s, are really for the launcher, not for magazine. If you notice, some weapon entries have ultra long RoF figures, those are really for magazines. If you put the entries for weapon mounts into magazines, you make a super fast reloading magazine for your mounts.
2. Grouping a ammo bunker and some TEL would make the program treats them like a whole. It would look and work like multiple weapon mounts build right on top of your ammo bunker, no matter how far the physical distance is.

As a workaround, you may try not to group them, but simply put them (TELs and ammo bunker) near each other and rely on CMO's internal land unit replenish mechanism to do the reload. There's no reload suitable df-26 entries for ammo storage, as far as I remembered, so you can't simply add a long RoF entry to simulate the loading time.

LUA may help, but that's beyond my ability, sorry for not providing a sure solution.

In the past I've had problems with the missiles firing, reloading, and then firing again at the same target. It makes it very difficult to switch targets when they do that.

None the less, I've had the best luck for firing ballistic missiles using LUA and avoiding missions entirely. It gives me more control.

Every mount of Chinese Ground to Ground missile has reload speed of 1s with very few exceptions. It should be fixed somehow.

I have a .scen file I can share but the site doesn't seem to let me. Says something about a fake path not being supported?

You will need to place it in a .zip file. In Windows 10 you can do this by right clicking the file, Send To > Compressed Folder.

If you're unable to upload them due to the age of your account you can PM it to me

Looks like that attached ok. The DF26s are located at Mischief Reef and launch at targets in Darwin as soon as the scenario starts. Note that the size of the salvo eclipses the actual capacity of the launchers due to the presence of the ammo unit they are grouped with.
