I find taking Poland easier now with the new setup. Is it suppose to be?

Isnt it just because you can now if you want use both arm corps and more airunits in Poland since you dont need them for the Netherlands any longer?

I agree with you MM. In the new release Poland will fall on turn 2 in nearly all matches due the use of both armors.

Actually I now move the north armour to take Copenhagen on turn 2 but even with just one armour and the airforce and 1 additional inf corps that I used to transfer to the west Poland will fall on turn 2 I guess at least 9/10 times.

In the past I always used both armor and all the air, but rarely did I get it to fall on turn 2. Now, like is mentioned above, I can start moving some air to Denmark for turn 2. What has changed? The set up looks slightly different but I can't put my finger on it. Has the map changed?

No most of the time players could do it in 2 turns. I shifted 1 polish unit to give a greater chance they can't KO poland in 2 turns.

Thanks for doing that because now I'm like everyone else and can get Poland to fall in two turn. [;)]

Here is after the first turn. It is far from perfect I did it really quick and some combat results were a bit bad but it should get the job done on turn 2.

NP :), there are only so many things you can do. I think the most important thing is that you rather retreat then shatter the cav unit facing the southern armour unit. If it retreats 2 times an inf can get to Lodz and together with arm corps take Lodz. On turn 2 you take the last 3 cities.

My new approach is similar to MMs. I've created a video. It also hinges on the destruction of the Cav unit. I also use both Armor units to shield a retreat around Warsaw. Poznan usually turn 1 and sometimes Krakow. Turn 2 Lodz and Warsaw and Krakow if it didn't fall in turn 1. It makes it easier when the mech in Krakow doesn't retreat because it is weak by turn 2.

The disadvantage to my method is the armor unit is not available until turn 4 for Denmark.

vid2:Denmark and Poland in 2 turns (I think this is what magic does)- He is a very strong player. I hope you don't mind Magic but I props you and PanzerMike in the vid. If there is an issue let me know and I will take it down.

Thanks for sharing. I have a different strategy for Warsaw. My goal is to have a German unit next to Warsaw at the end of turn 1.
Like this, this is impossible to circle the wagons around Warsaw.

My Krakow strategy is similar.

No problem, I dont mind at all [:)]. The only thing I would say is that it seems that the poor Polish were not set in defensive mode so it made it a bit easier for the Germans than maybe it should be.

Yes but beware of the incoming "Poland is too strong" thread. Don't forget this is a two weeks turn's game.

Sorry I dont get the meaning [:)]. I just meant in Ago1000s very good video in the Polish turn I think he forgot to turn on defensive mode on the Polish units especially in the cities, which you probably want to do as an allied player.

So true. Thanks MM. Gonna have to redo it with props to you nad PanzerMike again. By the way, was I close to how you did it. It's actually not so easy. There is a sequence I believe you must follow.

No it was not quite the same, there are many more ways to do it of course. But as I wrote above you do not want to shatter the cavalry facing the southern armour. So do not bomb it and only use in the first attack 2 inf corps and 2nd attack 1 inf corps. That way 2 1 mp cost hexes are created with which you can get an infantry corps next to Lodz with 2 op left. Then use that inf together with arm to take Lodz turn 1. And as Ncc1701e showed supposedly you can advance with the armour next to Warsaw even. I havent tried it but NCC1701e Polish opening looks really good.
