Air transport of fuel and supplies to friendly air base

Post by Jsto0033 »

In the V1.07.11 update there was several rules changes to logistics (air transport of fuel and supplies) One of these rule changes was as follows “Hexes that contain or are adjacent to a friendly air base unit (that is in a valid hex for air operations) will receive all of the supplies and fuel that are dropped (no drop attrition).

My problem is, that it seems that the program is very unstable! Sometimes I get the supplies at an air base without any problems, all 100 %, but for mostly of the time I only get the supplies with air drop attrition. (25-75% of the supplies is dropped successfully, and 16-50% of fuel is dropped successfully)

My problem is that I have try everything to figure out what to do for receiving all 100% supplied at my air base… If someone know, so please tell me how I should do it.

Otherwise, I think it´s a bug…

Pretty sure the airbase needs to be in a hex you controlled at the start of your turn. If you are placing it in newly conquered territory you will be subject to the normal attrition rates.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tried it too. With no positive result.

This requires January ‘42 before it’s active. The living manual by chris21wen may state this much more clearly.

It's called airhead supply and is only used when the airbase is isolated. See section 20.2.1.2 unauthorised manual.

The concept behind it is the aircraft land thus reducing the drop penalty but there is no guarantee all will be received, just less of a penalty. When I tested it the only rule seemed to be the airbase had to be in a hex contolled at the beginning of the turn, on the positive side it could move as could any units it distributed supply too.

Note that under normal cercumstances airbases are not a source of supply so this only applies when isolated.
