problem defending a planet

Post by Fiore76 »

Hi all,
I'm often in this situatuation:
I put a fleet at a planet to defend it, pirates are coming and the fleet is moving towards them and destroy them.
Unfortunately now they remain far from the planet if I do not issue another command to go back and the next pirates wave destroy my planet.
Is there any way to get automatically back the fleet to the planet they have to defend?
Maybe also avoiding they get too far to chase the enemy from the planet?
Many thanks!

Two ways I know of to deal with this.
You can use the fleet posture settings to set homeworld at the planet and then stance to Defend system
Or more easily make sure in the Empire Settings (from the Options menu) in Default Engagement Stances that 'other' is set to engage system targets
Make sure the ships have star drives (preferably Kaldos which are the quickest to engage)
I use the second method and the ships quickly warp to any targets from wherever they are in the system
