Automated Resource Management

Post by Miravlix »

I have a Caslon98%/Argon20%/Krypton20% mining station with 19200 storage. The auto manager reserves 9200 for caslon.

My Caslon11% mining station with 19200 storage reserves 14400 (4800 for trade).

Each of my small freighters can hold 1600.

So only 3 ships can get full, but only when the station is full reducing my mined/time factor. That seems less than ideal.

I've designed my mining stations with four cargo bays, the default design only has two.

The non caslon MS reserve 4800 caslon, the SSP reserve 20K.

This is a fresh game with minimal tech.

I would test more to see how much it reserve with less cargo bays or better tech, but my game still crashes all the time, so I only play until it crashed after a patch.

The reservation system also controls how much the ship carry of other resources and take a look at luxuries, they have fairly small numbers reserved. Resulting in ships carrying less than the minimal 1600 cargo a small freighter can transport most of the time. Seems to me the system has way to high reserves in a few cases, but mostly the reserves is way too low to allow for good logistic.
