MOVE and DEPLOY

Post by governato »

- Q1: when is an MOVE or DEPLOY order considered 'executed'? Specifically when the order is for an entire Org with many units
I assume it depends on having 'a certain amount' of units getting 'close' to the target hex, but it'd be helpful to add a little more details in the Editor manual.

Example below: the German division's three columns MOVE East, triggered by the Soviet unit entering a trigger area to the right. After MOVE completes another task will be started via 'next id'

However, in this case the MOVE order never passes its completion criteria because some German units 'get lost' trying to cross the river and never make it to the destination hex (the airfield)
As an unwanted consequence the order following MOVE never gets executed.

- Q2 I understand this is an extreme situation for the AI to handle and could give MOVE orders to individual units, but any chance you can improve route finding for MOVE orders? There are lots of rivers in Russia ...and Europe.

Oh, sure, can have a look at that Move command and see why they get stuck.
